Itin split in half

Hello,

a friend booked a r/t flight that is somehow split in half. The outbound trip is only showing on DL with one record locator, while the inbound is only showing on NWA with another locator. Is there any way to fix that?

I suspect not or it wouldn't be worth the trouble in any case. Why do they care?

Is it domestic or international? Sometimes not all international flights show up in all systems.

Is the electronic ticket number in both reservations and clearly indicates all flights? That is the most important.

Generally DL and NW will have different record locators. That doesn't mean anything. What is important is that you have an e-ticket associated with all segments.

It's international with the outbound on an AF codeshare and the inbound on KLM metal.

The eTicket # is the very same on both systems. However even when I search by eTicket #, only the inbound is showing on NWA and vice versa on DL.

Well at least it looks to be on the same eTickets. After a schedule change on the DL part, the itin broke in half. This is not catastrophic since my friend has all her segments still showing somewhere but it's extremely inconvenient that I cannot manage her booking properly anymore :-(

International definitely explains it. Often one system only sees direct connections to/from their own flights. If all segments are on the e-ticket, you are OK.

Another poster here recently posted about how DL canceled the return portion of their flights. Berated DL and AA for the problem. But they didn't realize a "reservation" is just that - a reservation. It is not a ticket. I still don't think they understand the difference. You need BOTH a reservation and a ticket number for all flights. The e-ticket receipt needs to show all flights. It seems like you have that.

Thank you for your help, fti. I just had a short call with an extremely rude DL employee here. Appearentely, my "favorite" airline has handed over her itin to AF and is not responsible anymore. After some discussion the CSR revealed the new AF booking reference - and voil - whole trip is accessable by by airfrance.com.

A notification of that would have been nice but hey ... she is just another paying customer who interferes with the big business so it seems ...
