Cuba, August, with 16 year old - comments?

My daughter is off to Girl Guide camp in August in Switzerland. My wife has made a grab for my Hilton points and SkyTeam points and is off to SFO for a trip with her friend, leaving me and my 16 year old son with the option of 10 days anywhere in the world.

Current top of the list is Cuba

We aren't much for lying on the beach, but do fancy learning scuba and seeing some of the real Cuba before Castro moves on.

Any suggestions or comments?

Thanks in advance.

This maybe too late....

Try Beaches in Varadero.

Its the family version of Sandals,
I think Scuba is included- at least it was when I was there in 2002.
Its certainly included at Sandals Varadero but kids are not allowed.
