More help needed with Cuba Itinerary

Hi,

I already asked a similar question but I am still unsure of several things.
My family (4ppl) and I are flying into Havana.

Havana: Fri - Tuesday - 5 days / 4 nights
Vińales: Wednesday, Thursday - 2 days / 3 nights
Drive to Varadero: Friday - 4.5 hours
Varadero: Sat, Sun, Mon - 3 days / 4nights
Tues - Fly back from Havana

We wanted to rest for the last 3 days on the beach. But the drive is big. If its not worth the drive to Varadero, what would you recommend instead?
Maybe a nice area with really nice beach and restaurants and places to see and visit between Vińales and Havana?

Thank you

There is a beach close to Havana, 20 mins, Playa Santa Maria. Its a beautiful beach. Either drive there or take the tourist bus, $5 return fare.

Nice restaurants, mmm ,sure, this is not Puerto Rico or the Dominican republic, you'll get food but not fire grilled burgers and ribs.

It really depends on where else you have been. Varadero is a nice beach. It is not --IMO-- as nice as Tulum, or as nice many beaches in Brazil.

Insofar as culture, because Varadero has a lot of resort hotels, they have shows nightly for their patrons. The music in the clubs in town is also very touristy, not very "authentic" IMO, more a crowd of drinkers than a crowd of music aficionados.

You could try Cayo Jutias nearer to Vinales.
