RSSC Splendor does not accept OBC in the casino...period.
Spa works well. Pricing is a bit mystical.
2 stores. 1 jewelry and watches...nothing that can be resold at even 10% in my opinion. Most of it over the $$$ I am talking about. 2nd store has perfumes, purses, clothes, sunglasses and some miscellaneous. Don't want the weight of cologne/risk. Clothes in limited sizes, colors, etc. This is a small store. Prices are all over the place. T-shirt $120 one day $57 another. We did manage to get thru our first OBC by ignoring need, use, and price. Only target was spend it all, and hope it fits in the luggage. Needing a watch would have helped, but neither of us does.
You can spend $$$ on wine, but why. The included wine is most all varietals, and wines from vineyards like Napa all over the world. There have been some tastings that were a couple hundred dollars per person.
They will not take OBC for future cruise deposits.
Maybe in our second 2 weeks, I'll find our more.
There were a few tours that had a charge, but they all were sold out months before I was eligible to select ours. They do go fast on Regent.
Caution, off topic, don't come on this ship hoping to be able to buy sundries! The store had some chocolate (huge) and chips type stuff, but no meds, razors, cough drops, tums, etc. One day was a one off and they had shave cream!

I found a way to extend the life of the on board credit. Regent allows you to move your credit to a future cruise, if they put you in isolation with covid. It is a tough temporary solution, but that is what has happened. It is not a solution, but at least a postponement. Valueless, unless we do another RSSC. You cannot use the OBC for medical. Our bill will be $1,000's.

If I'm paying for my onboard credit without any promotions (for an Amex offer) and want to cash out any remainder, will they send it back to the card on file? Give it to me in cash when closing out the folio? Can I cash it out myself in the casino?

Can you give us all the details of this AMEX offer? Normally, OBC have no cash value for refunds and can't be used in the casino. Use 'em or lose 'em.

It's the same seasonal Amex offer that comes around on various cruise line for $XXX back on $1000 spend. The terms say must be directly from reservation center or website, just not onboard. What I'm trying to find out is if I can replicate this https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topi...-what-happens/

I was referring to this offer: Amex Offers (USA) 2023

Forget it. The offer is for $300 credit on your credit card statement. I did one of these last year and it only lowers your Amex card stmt bill by $300. It has nothing to do with an OBC.

Spouse and myself each have one of these offers, and we've hit one of them organically from the charges out of the reservation center. What I'm trying to do is see if I can buy onboard credit on the website which also qualifies and hit the second offer, spend another $1000 and get $300 back (from Amex), and then cash out whatever leftover amount after all the charges during the trip. Is this just wishful thinking?

That should work fine. They will generally put any remaining refundable OBC back on the credit card some time after the cruise ends.

Back to the original post...PLUS...Filed a medical claim with my Medicare back up policy, type F (no longer available to new people). Received about $!600 reimbursement. So, in a very roundabout way I managed to get about $100 back of my second OBC?
