However the French toll roads posed a problem
France was one of the first countries to adopt EMV, before there was widespread connectivity, and that's why they adopted "offline" PIN (where the PIN is verified in the chip itself), rather than "online" PIN (where the chip is verified in an online communication with your bank). International Flight to Italy
I've been keeping an eye on airfare to Rome and Milan in October and have found fares to Milan for $840/$850 on Orbitz for American Airlines and Delta, However, the only flights available in The Rewards Center are 70,000 point flights. Why are there such limited flights available if The Rewards Center is pulling from Orbitz? I apologize if this question has been asked before. I have only used points to book domestically, but not internationally.

check some tips in my previous post http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/22989483-post911.html |
The one way cost is 50,000 points with 2 stops for the first leg and the same for the return trip. That would cost an additional 30,000 points. Why would they suggest buying the flight and then redeeming points for cash when the redemption value is only .01 for cash and up to .02 for flights.

I've had no problems searching for flights on Travelocity, then finding them once again in Rewards Center to go through with the booking. |
I thought it was Travelocity as well, but on the flight selection page it says Powered by Orbitz Partner Network.

Actually the Rewards Center pulls from Travelocity, not Orbitz.

Auto payments being what exactly? Your credit card bill is paid automatically from your bank account on the date they choose? Can you choose to pay a small portion, then pay the balance manually within 21 days once you've had a chance to review the bill - all without a finance charge?
We'll see. So check your autopay date... maybe even call them if you can't see what range of dates you can make your payment. Choose the first available date and pay in full. |

Unattended kiosks in France tend to often work only with a chip & "offline" PIN EMV card. Even if your Flexperks card is EMV (has a chip on it), it's pretty likely it's just chip & signature, perhaps with a chip and "online" PIN option. (Extremely few EMV cards issued in the US have been "offline" PIN to date.)

See this thread for more: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/credi...signature.html Thanks so much for your response - you've literally provided the @:-) ! Once I found the US-based ones repeatedly rejected, I started using my European CCs for the toll roads and finally saved ourselves the embarrassment of a long back-up-queue - quelle horreur ;) |

check some tips in my previous post http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/22989483-post911.html I check International flights on a fairly regular basis and have not had problems finding the flights that are shown on Google Flights, Travelocity or Orbitz. They might not be exactly the same flights, and I cannot force any connecting airports but the basics as pricing and airline/alliance are the same. |

However, your choice in flights and routing might be somewhat limited, which can be important especially when considering a MR. |
I've decided to dump the card - just too much stress dealing with the declined charges and fraud holds - and having to watch out for the "perfect" redemption.

you can still get a credit for $25. It's not a free GC at that point but a 50% off
I have redeemed for 2 tickets, could I buy a $50 AA gift card and get credit for $50 total. Thank you! |
