As mentioned previously, if you have a platinum package account with US Bank, you get a 50% flexperks bonus for spending on the card. My question is whether the 2X bonus categories receive 2.5X (50% bonus on the "base" points) or 3X total points (50% bonus on total points). Similarly, would the 3X points for charitable donations become 3.5X or 4.5X with the platinum package?

I have the arrangement described above. You only get a 50% bonus on the base spending. So, regular (non-bonus) spending categories yield 1.5 points per dollar. Categories with 2x bonuses get 2.5 points per dollar. Charitable giving nets 3.5 points per dollar.

Got it. Thanks for the quick reply. Still a great deal I'd say.

If anyone should possibly be considered or granted the EMV card, my guess is me.
I happen to spend a perpetual amount of time outside the US and have had to use for a long time now my EU-based CCs that have contained the chip.
One cannot buy groceries, get gas, purchase a train ticket, pay for toll or other services without the chip-card in most developed nations.

Well ... after a couple of days of the run-around at US Bank, I received a seemingly definitive answer from a supervisor:
It was a pilot program and is closed to new members.
No news whatsoever about when the card would be available to regular customers - nada.

Yay ... what a pleasant surprise !
After being disappointed and wondering "why-not-me" for so long, I received the valued "chip" version in the mail ^

I've read US Bank will deny for too many inquiries in the past year.
Does anyone know what the magic number of "too many inquiries " in the past year is for US Bank? Trying to decide to go for it now with 11 inquiries in past 12 mos or wait a month when I will have only 8. Hate to wait a month as a bunch of cards I want to get right away, esp BofA AS before comp pass goes coach only.

Receipt for flex perks redemption

Does anyone know, if I redeem 20,000 points for a $395 ticket, can I get a receipt showing that $395 was paid for the ticket, my employer will reimburse as a business expense if I can get such.

I do show the price from the PNR from a FlexPerks ticket I booked in 2010. US Bank sent a travel confirmation with all the details, the cash price paid and the miles used.

Unless you need the cash why not keep the miles for a personal trip and have your employer buy your ticket directly? Or buy the ticket with a mileage card and be reimbursed.

Yes, all my bookings thru Flexperks/Travelocity - including the last one of some two months ago - show the receipt and breakdown of billing details, fare details, and tax details.

I see that a platinum checking account gives you

"50% monthly bonus on all rewards earned for net purchases with your U.S. Bank FlexPerks® Credit Card".

The visa card I got gives me a sign-up bonus, so do I get a 50% bonus on the sign-up rewards earned as well? That would be quite awesome....

Unfortunately, it doesn't. It also doesn't apply to spend bonuses. It basically adds 0.5 points per dollar spent on the card.

US Bank site states there are lots of "Merchandise" & "Gift Card" rewards but unable to see what 10,000 points will capture since you have to be logged in. 20,000 gets up to $400 airline ticket but I only plan on capturing 10K points for quick churn.

Does anyone know or can screen shot rewards for 10K?
Thanks! :)

Can this card and the new offer be churned?

This is what everyone wants to know. Delta Points claims yes, but no one has reported success...yet...

Apology in advance if this question has been asked previously -
I am considering apply for the USBank flex perks card - I did read that the bonus and miles earned can be used with my frequent flyer airline membership - I would ultimately like to transfer the bonus points earned with USBank to AAdvantage MIles -
I would appreciate some advice - thanks

FlexPerks cannot be transferred to other program.

They can, however, be transferred to friends/family FlexPerks accounts for free.

FlexPerks are typically used to purchase a revenue ticket for free on any airline. The ticket you purchase will earn miles as if you have purchased it yourself.

Apped for this on the last day. While gone on vacation got a letter asking for me to call in. They were reviewing because I have 8 recent credit inquiries. After looking the lady said that it was ok because 1 was for a new car and another for a home refi. She said they would resume processing the application. Longest.app.ever.

Does anyone have experience booking a flexperks ticket over the phone? How competent are the agents? I want to book a roundtrip ticket with multiple stops (but no stopovers), and the online site is terrible for booking this type of trip.
