Help! How to Remove EXP Security Freeze without PIN?

I requested an Experian security freeze a couple of months ago. Now I want to have it removed. But I can't find the PIN that Experian supplied me by hard copy letter only (not e-mail).

It is impossible to reach a human at the Experian phone numbers I have (notably 888-397-3742). There is no way to have the freeze removed via automated voice recognition phone service, or via their website, without the PIN. Even writing to them seems to require that you supply a PIN.

Any ideas on how I can get out of this Kafkaesque bad dream?

Thanks.....

You can request a PIN reminder from Experian Credit Bureau.
Click to reach SECURITY FREEZE center

4th section from top:
Request a Personal Identification Number reminder
This service is for consumers who have a security freeze on their credit report and wish to request a forgotten or misplaced PIN. A PIN is needed to remove a freeze from your credit file, either temporarily or permanently.

For future reference, if you need to reach a human, try
Corporate Headquarters, which is also a Regional Office for your area.

One would think you'd hold onto such an important document.
