It has been my experience that Amex is very sloppy in enforcing the one bonus rule, as has US Bank. Chase has a memory like an elephant! Citicard and Citibusiness allow you to churn away!

Happy, I also pay my cards off every month and have done so for almost 20 years. I could open 200 CCs if I wanted to, but that would not make sense to me.
Preach? I did not preach. I asked a question and got many answers. Moreover, this thread is the perfect place to discuss the pros and cons of having many CCs. The title (132 CCs and counting) speaks for itself.

Earlier in this thread it was asked how you (productive churners) are getting multiple bonuses by churning if the application clearly states only one bonus per cardmember. How are you getting around that? Are the companies bad at keeping records?
I have 4 UA 30,000 direct mail offers in my desk and would be happy to churn them but they all say there is only one first time bonus and I have already done it once.
I appreciate your thoughts.

One poster has reported that churning also works with two banks that currently have cards for US Air (but it's not clear to me whether it's as heavy churning as AA that they allow). But those banks don't have any cards for any other airlines, and US Air seems to be the least popular of the "big 6" legacy airlines based in the USA.
At other bankds, there may be a little churning allowed, but it requires loopholes. For example, some other banks may only allow one bonus per type of card, but have several types of cards and may allow you to get one bonus on each (at the very least, one personal card and one business card, but maybe even one person "Signature" card and one personal "World" card, etc). UA, at best, seems to maybe fall into this category, as far as I can determine, but exactly which cards they consider "different" enough I'm not absolutely clear on. (In my case, I had some fee-based UA card a few years ago, but for the last few years have only had a Bronze UA card. I have no clue which, if any, of the current UA personal cards they would consider "different" enough from what I have or had to give me another bonus.)
Then there may be "very slow" churning, ie, those banks'airlines that let you get another bonus, but only after enough years have gone by and their primary records of your previous bonus have "rolled off" or whatever...

Starwood bonus pts
I read somewhere on these forums that you could only get the bonus from Starwood one time per person. I got the bonus last Dec(2007), closed all cards, and then reapplied this June. I did receive the bonus again on all cards in my name and my husbands name ( and the businesss). Not sure if I was just
lucky, or if I read incorrect info.

At least since July the answer is negative.
