Angry Please help with MBNA!

Okay, I'm part of platinum plus miles and the rewards chart goes by dollars--so in this case, im trying to book an open-jaw and the credit they will give me towards it is $300.00.

I'm pulling up the fare ONT-IND-SFO of $306.80 on both AA and ITA.

The MBNA people on the phone insist its $381.80 for the EXACT SAME FLIGHTS and say "this is through our system and this it what pulls up."

"Fares change all the time sir, even in the middle of a booking" like I'm a moron.

I've tried arguing with them, giving them fare codes, etc. and they are basically at a take it or leave it position.

I'm so angry! They always seem to have higher prices than what one can find elsewhere JUST so they can get more points/$ out of me!

Has anyone dealt with them? What can i do?!

<<Fares change all the time sir, even in the middle of a booking>>

Much more likely fare "bucket" availability changes. I would make note of the fare CODE before calling and verify that they are finding the exact same code, and also that the fare you have looked up includes all taxes and fees. However, inasmuch as the difference is exactly $75 this is probably a difference in the fare code used rather than taxes.

No, its absolute BS--the fare isnt going anywhere, I've called back twice now and theyre being completely immutable. I agree that its a fare code thing, but why would they be pulling up a higher fare code? Ugh. All I want them to do is buy a general publically available ticket for me at the price that any non-FTer can get it for. They seem to be unable to do that.
