Oh, you're welcome. I would have included a link if I thought someone was going to look it up, sorry about that. But, yeah, it is a great card. I like it because it has "big bank" rotating 5% categories but, while the banks often overlap each other in a quarter, Nusenda often has it own categories for that quarter. Perfect example - this upcoming Q1 '22 quarter, both Disco and Freedom have grocery. Unless you are going to exceed the cap, that's a waste. Nusenda still has not released its Q1 '22 categories yet (come on guys!) but I'll bet you they will offer gas or dining.

I was reading on the myfico forum that Nusenda CU membership is not as easy as it was for me in 2018. When I joined the CU, all I had to do was first make a $5 donation to a wildlife organization. I have not checked myself but I read that backdoor is gone.

I actually have a similar strategy to you. My spending is currently made in this order:

1. 5% CB on Freedom or Discover (Rotating categories)
2. 4.5% CB on USB AR (Travel & mobile wallet)
3. Any spending if I'm working towards an SUB on a card
4. 3% CB on US Alliance (if I'm in the US)
5. 2.5% CB on Alliant (if I'm overseas)

I'm currently working on getting the AOD card in order to replace 4 and 5 on my list (due to 3% CB with no FTF).

I also didn't know about the Nusenda card, so thanks for the tip on that.

I'm sure you know that the US Alliance is ending its 3% and going back to 2% in December 2022. Before I thought I had a snowball's chance with AOD, I had actually started the application process with Alliant. I didn't love it but I was willing to park $1,000 and make a monthly electronic deposit. As fate would have it, I accidentally closed my browser while in the middle of applying. Doh! For the life of me, I couldn't figure out how to pick up where I left off so I went to bed. Next day I got a reply from AOD customer service responding to a message I had sent them several days prior basically asking about the likelihood of a Californian getting into their union. I'll just say this: I took their reply as a wink. lol I dropped Alliant and pursued AOD.

Ok, thank you. Much of my spending gets 5% CB. 3% is the minimum (AOD). Between Nusenda, Freedom, Disco-it, and Custom Cash, I get 5% basically every quarter in at least the 3 big ones for me - gas, dining, and grocery. I haven't done the math but you can say I average 4.X% CB. All with no annual fees.

I doubt it. Those are all limited to $500 per month, I usually MS such cards. I rarely use Discover if at all, since it's not interesting when you have 7 Freedoms and 5 Custom Cashes.
USB AR is unlimited, and 0.5% not worth it. I always thinking whether I need to use Cash+ or AR, cause Cash+ may not code correctly, and I always use AR instead, no brainer. If I had to have only one card, it would be AR for sure.

You doubt what? Yes they are limited to $1500 spend per quarter. That's why it's great to have several 5% cards to spread the spend over.

I'm glad you like the AR. Not for me though, it's a travel card and I don't travel. It looks like it is a 5% (or is that 7.5%?) and 4.5% card only when redeemed for travel. Otherwise - remove travel - it's 3% with mobile wallet and that's it. AOD is 3% anything and there are cards that are 5% mobile wallet (eyeballing one of those, actually). That and I break out in hives over annual fees, lol. I probably could hit the $325 in credits but that's only because it counts dining as well as travel toward the credit. But, correct me if I am wrong, if you use the card for dining, you don't get any points, right? So, spend $325 on dining and you lost out on $16.25 at 5% or $9.75 at 3%. Anyway, glad it works for you.

The following cards all give $3k/year spending at 5% in mobile wallets, I'm planning to get 1 or more of them over the next few years:

https://www.krogermastercard.com/
https://www.marianosmastercard.com/
https://www.picknsavemastercard.com/
https://www.ralphsmastercard.com/

They are all issued by US Bank, which is a negative for me, but you can't argue with an easy 5%.

Is there a sign up bonus for any of these cards?

Yes, all except the Kroger card give $100 for $500 spend.

I actually applied for the Ralphs card back in October and was rejected. Not altogether surprising as I was on 10/24 and 5/6 at the time. I will try again in the future though.

I don't know much about LGE CCU, and I don't know how long it will last, but LGE is offering 5% CB for mobile wallet at this time.

Wow, that's an excellent find!

Do you happen to know how long they have been offering the 5%?

No sorry. Upon further research, it looks like the credit union itself gets terrible reviews.

AR is not a travel card, it's a cashback card, you don't need to travel in order to get 4.5% cashback on almost everything. There are also easy ways how to get $325 in cash, without spending a dime on travel or anything else. And, you do get points when you're also spending those $325 (I don't, because I just cash it).
I doubt that you average 4%, when you're limited in $1500 spend per quarter. I don't even consider those cards, I MS them every quarter. All my spend goes to unlimited cards, such as AR.

It's not permanent.
We have extended our cash back offer! In a time where we're doing more online and mobile ordering than ever, LGE has decided to continue our 5% cash back on mobile wallet purchases made with your LGE Visa® Platinum or Achiever credit card.1 It's just another way we're helping you put more money in your pocket while simplifying your shopping.

Understood. That's why I said I don't know how long it will last and why toofast asked how long they have been doing it. I am very curious how long or how often they do it!

What is not clear with these cards - is the cashback is limited to $3000/year spend, in other words - you will get $150 cashback max, or the cashback itself you can get is limited to $3000 per year?

Second question - is mobile wallet spend has MCC exclusion categories?
