Pleasant surprise

So as detailed above, I had applied at beginning of year and gotten a dusty snail-mail letter asking for all manner of documents, some of which I did not have.

After actually obtaining some of those documents (more for DL renewal than for this nonsense), I decided to apply again, being resolved to fight my way through the paperwork if allowed to do so. To my pleasant surprise (what changed, Barclays?) I got an automatic approval and, subsequently, the cards.

Applied for this card today and the app went to pending. Called up Reconsideration line and was denied saying too many credits at this time. Im at 8/24. I requested him if they can move some credits over and reprocess the application, but the csr denied saying it is declined and i need to apply after few months.
Should i try calling in again after few days?

I think Barclays has a 6/24 rule for this card; I read that there are DPs showing as such. You maybe out of luck with being 8/24.

True.. The 2nd rep i spoke said the same that i had more than their threshold limit to approve the card which i assume is 6/24.

LOL...sorry, but that is ridiculous. I don't remember much about the Barclays cards, but can you pre pay so you can spend more in one shot? Otherwise, you'll end up spending a little, paying that off, spend a little again...ugh.

The min spend $1000 in 3 months. That's $500 over two months, or $333.34 over three months, both easy to do without needing to prepay.

So that's obviously how they expect you to do it. If you intended to do it all in the first billing period, rather than stretching it over 3 months, that's your issue, not their expectation.

I don't believe the Business Aviator card gets reported to the credit agencies. At least mine doesn't.

Oh, you're probably correct. I didn't notice this was the biz thread and not personal. I'll delete the other.

Current offer from link as follows:

Earn up to 60,000 AAdvantageŽ bonus miles
Earn 50,000 miles after spending $1,000 in the first 90 days. Earn 10,000 miles when a purchase is made on an employee card.

Will a 75K offer pop up again or do we think this is the new normal?

LOL. Sounds like you got approve for a CreditOne credit card. Check your bill, you probably already owe $400 ($150 annual fee, $200 setup fee, $20 monthly membership fee, and $30 processing fee).

How fast do the points post?

If I spend the $1k ASAP how long would it take for the 75k to hit my AA account?
