Personal Card
Click here to get the same offer (see below) with the annual fee waived the first year. First try entering code 999999 in the box at the top of the page. Apparently this offer is from an AA employee selling the card inflight, but it seems to be open to everyone. But publishing that employee's code online could get the employee in trouble. If 999999 doesn't work, use employee code 356467. Note: You will NOT get a $99 Companion Certificate as part of your bonus when the annual fee is waived.
Language from the web offer page: Anniversary Companion Certificate: Each anniversary year; earn a Companion Certificate good for 1 guest at $99 (plus taxes and fees) after spending $20,000 on purchases and your account remains open for 45 days after your anniversary date. There is NO LANGUAGE in this offer regarding a "complimentary" companion certificate.

As of Sept. 2017, most people applying for an Aviator card are being denied, "instantly" by a computer, if they already have an Aviator card open. As of Dec. 2017, most people applying for an Aviator card are being denied, even by recon, if they already have an Aviator card open. It had been that current and previous Aviator Red (US Airways Converted) cardmembers were not subject to the 24-month restriction. This seems to have changed as far as current card holders applying for a second, concurrent card. (See posts #185, 193, 194, 195, 198, 199, 211, 220, 247, 290, 527, 529, 532)

It appears that if your SUB includes the $95 AF (annual fee), Barclays doesn't post the AF until the 2nd statement. Thus, it will be a min. of 2 statements before you see your SUB points. This is only if the SUB requires the AF (as opposed to some SUBs that just have the $x,xxx in purchases with no AF).
There have been at least two cases in July 2023 where Barclays posted the AF prior to the first statement. In both of those cases, the cardholder paid the AF and other balance prior to the closing date. The SUB was issued as of the first statement for one these accounts. It may be the second one was too close to the closing date.
Posting of points from Barclays SUB to AA seem to take 3-7 days after the SUB posts on the Barclays Statement.

the total amount of fees a consumer is required to pay with respect to a credit card account under an open-end (not home-secured) consumer credit plan during the first year after account opening must not exceed 25 percent of the credit limit in effect when the account is opened

In my understanding, the fee limit is 25% of the original credit limit, and applies only during the first year.

Even though it looks to be way past 30 days since the AF was issued, I was able to cancel the card and guess I'll get a check back for the AF at some point.

Barclay Aviator: When to cancel?
I have had it for over 5 years, and aside from the signup bonus, figured it the annual fee of $89, now $99, was worth the 10,000.
American has had very few flights from Japan, so the other benefits that come with the card are meaningless for me.
I believe my last chance to collect the 10,000 will be this month. The question is whether there will be a clawback if I cancel too soon.

Any other Aviator cardmembers get a promotion for 10 miles/$ through the end of January? It's running from Nov-Jan and is only good for the first $1,000 each month, but seems like an easy 30,000 miles.

I got the same thing. Definitely diverting some of my spending to the Aviator Red card. Miles will definitely help in booking AA's 772 first class on their JFK-LAX route (at least until it lasts).

I got the offer, it was what kept me from cancelling the card, which renewed at the beginning of this month. I’ve seen internet reports of even better offers, but this one was pretty good! I just wish they would give me a reason to routinely put spend on the card...

For a typical non-Flyertalk household, those miles and companion ticket could be stretched quite far if used wisely for domestic web promos/cardholder-only reduced mileage awards.

I called to confirm the demise of my US Air legacy 10,000 anniv bonus, and it is now gone (last bonus was received Dec, 2019).
No offers of retention, bummer, because that 30,000/$3,000 would have been nice.

I think I received the 10X offer but after I clickec on enroll, nothing seemed to have happened. There is not indication to see if I am enrolled or not.

You can always send them a secure message and verify that you are indeed enrolled. That's what I did to verify that I was enrolled prior to a purchase I made.

Reminder that Barclays offers chat support for the Aviator cards, which has typically been quick and efficient in my experience.
