Cash back or keep points?
We've churned through around a dozen sign up bonuses over the past 9 months as a test foray into gaining points through sign up bonuses. It worked, and we now have unlimited points, citi points, southwest, amex points, united, aadvantage, SPG, hilton, hyatt, fairmont, and ihg. The problem is, that we really don't travel a ton - we just wanted to try and amass points for our 10 year anniversary.
I have a few questions:
1. Should we cancel our Ink + Sapphire before the annual fee and redeem the points for cash back since we have so many other points with airlines and hotels? Or keep them to transfer to partners? (I know they're more valuable if we transfer them, but...I'm trying to be practical).
2. If we do cancel, should we use Chase Freedom + Chase Unlimited for cash back or simply Citi Double Cash? Or something else?
3. Thoughts on redeeming points for a 10 year anniversary vacation. Not picky. Want to use SouthWest for airfare and the hotels listed above.
Thanks!

I would keep one of the Premium UR reward cards. If you pay your cell phone and cable bill with Ink it should cover the cost of holding the card every year. Its the card I keep to be able to x-fer points.
No one will be able to help you plan your 10 year anny vacay until you pick somewhere to go. Are you staying in the states? Caribbean?

That's a good idea. So in that scenario, I'd cancel my Sapphire preferred and keep Ink, Freedom and Chase Unlimited? Put cell phone, cable and office stuff on Ink. 5x categories on Freedom, and everything else on Unlimited? And just not use the Citi Double?
Also - I think I saw, where I can combine unlimited points from my sapphire preferred to my Ink? Is that correct? And I think I saw that I can combine points with my spouse? I don't see that option online - maybe I have to call?
For the vacation - I think we'd lean towards caribbean/tropical. The airfare is really easy - it's just trying to work out the hotel that's been really difficult.

I realize it is not as exciting as an island in the Caribbean, but, if you are looking to use hotel points, there are some good options in Florida. You can get some pretty nice hotels on the beach for fewer points than you would spend otherwise. I would think there would also be more flight options to Florida on Southwest.

It is a very-personal question. Beside, you should not limit yourself with WN (as in most of the case, you are limiting yourselves staying within the U.S.).

You mention Hyatt and Fairmont - I imagine you have 2 or 4 free nights at each that expire within a year, so it would be best to try to use those. One obvious choice is Hawaii, but you can't use Southwest to get there (yet). For Hyatt, perhaps the Zilara in Cancun or Jamaica? Southwest flies to both.

Having been to both the Cancun Jamaica properties, if it comes down to these two - go Cancun!

The CSP can be downgraded to a no AF Freedom or Freedom Unlimited.
You can cash out if and when you want, but if you have a change of mind you can upgrade one of them back up to use transfers.
