B* dead completely?

I have seen a lot of reports that B* is dead on all 3 bureau's. But there is now a report on Credit Boards that this can still be done on TU using some extensive techniques. Has anyone had any luck doing this with any of the bureau's?

What is B* exactly? I haven't seen that term before and Google is of no help.

B* is bumpage or the process of removing hard credit enquiries from your report by doing many soft enquirers each day for months sometimes.

But of course, what's needed today is CH*, which would backdate cards you got in the past 24 months to look as if you got them longer ago, to get around Chase 5/24 rules. (Chase is counting cards you opened, with any bank, in the past 24 months, that they see on your credit report, not [just] inquiries.) But that's not likely to be figured out soon, I suspect.

I was able to B* my TU hard pulls as recently as early this year (maybe ten months ago). I successfully nudged all of the HPS off my TU report via smartcredit.com, and then hit up the CC-issuers who target TU (since I'm in the Northeast, basically everybody pulls TU for me except Citi and AmEX). It worked, but a month later the pulls were back, and I was no longer able to B* them with smartcredit.com. I've never tried to B* the other two bureaus.

My TU only shows 6 HPS in the last two years (due to the hits aging off) and none in the last six months, so I'm no longer trying this.
