Next Card Advice?
Hi everyone, I currently have an excellent credit score (so no concern there) and primarily use a Citi DoubleCash card for all purchases. I've noticed the 2% cash back on everything, doesn't seem to be everything (only "eligible purchases) and I was wondering if there was something better.
I currently have:
Citi DoubleCash
Chase Disney Visa
76 Personal Card (I get gas from there as it's the same as paying cash and get money back)
I travel maybe once per year on either United or JetBlue. My goal really is to be earning the most back in terms of statement credit or points that could be used toward a free airline seat. I'm pretty new to this whole thing so I was hoping some experts could give me a personalized recommendation. I've been reading a lot of blogs and am just unsure what is best for my particular situation.
Thanks in advance!

Welcome to FT!
Look at the Fidelity Amex card (you will need to open a Fidelity brokerage account if you do not already have one), or the Barclay Arrival+ MasterCard.
The Barclay card has an annual fee (waived the first year); no fee on the Fidelity card, but it is an Amex, which might not be ideal for you, depending on where you typically use credit cards.
What is your average credit-card spend per year? Unless it's substantial, I would avoid cards with an annual fee.

Have you looked at this thread in the credit card forums for currently available best deals?
"The special credit card master thread"
This thread is meant to list all current special credit card offers for airlines and hotel program and provide names of non-airline/hotel programs. This will help those who would like to apply for only special offers without going to each forum

$3,500 in a month, or in a year?
If you only charge $3,500 per year, then you will not garner any appreciable benefit from your spend. Most credit cards with valuable sign-up bonuses require charging upwards of $3K or $4K to the card within the first three months.

Per month. Some months are several hundred ($300-400). Other months when I have car expenses, I can do somewhere around $2000.
OK. So, on average how much do you charge per year?

That's hard to say as I only opened my first card November of last year (graduated college last year and wanted to have a full time job before applying for one).
From December '14 - Present, I have put ~$7000 on my cards. I was just approved for my 76 card this weekend so intend to put all my gas purchases on a card from now on. Figuring I'm putting at LEAST $150+ worth of gas/mo on that card as well.

Well, assuming that you would average $12K a year in spend, it probably would not be worthwhile to get any cashback-type card with a significant annual fee. Paying, say, $89 a year when you're only earning $240 in cash back each year is a lot more of a negative than if you were charging $100K a year, and earning $2,000 a year in cash back.
Your best bet for nearly free air travel is to churn credit cards for the sign-up bonuses, but your credit history might be too thin for you to try that yet.
If Amex is accepted at most of the places where you shop, the 2%-back Fidelity Amex might be your best bet for your non-gas spending.

If you are willing to travel other airlines I would really recommend southwest card, i opened mine 2 years ago and i love it, 50,000 points when you spend 2,000 in the first two months. depending on where you live u can get flights from 3,000 points each way. if you get 110,000 points by the end of the year you can qualify for a companion pass (take a companion for free). People are earning the companion pass by opening both personal cards that southwest offers . they both have annual fees but compared to all the flights that u can get with those points i think its worth it
hope it helps
below is the link for the premier card with the 50,000 bonus
