Improving The Quality/Value Of Targeted Offers
I just got a letter from a card issuer inviting me to earn more miles by adding an authorized user to my account. Normally I would just tear up such an offer and trash it. But it caused me to wonder: can responding the way the card issuer wants me to respond improve the quality of the offers they send? In other words, how could it be bad if I accept their suggestion and add an authorized user (me, in the case of my wife's card, and her, in the case of her card)? Even if the cards don't get used?
