But it caused me to wonder: can responding the way the card issuer wants me to respond improve the quality of the offers they send? In other words, how could it be bad if I accept their suggestion and add an authorized user (me, in the case of my wife's card, and her, in the case of her card)? Even if the cards don't get used?
Unless there is a reward for doing what they're offering, I don't see any point in responding to them other than just confirming that you'll do what they suggest in the future
