I bet half of my purchases go through Amazon Prime. Does anyone give particular benefits for Amazon purchases?

I know the "buy a Vanilla Visa from Office Depot and then buy Amazon with it" trick, but I'm wondering if there's any card, no matter how obscure, that has a partnership with Amazon.

I seem to keep about $1600 in gift cards on amazon at any one time.

I have Citi Forward for 5%. I got this two months ago by converting my old Citi Platinum card. I just told them I was planning on going back to college full time and thought the card would be useful.

Chase Amazon is the obvious runner up at 3%.

I accumulate a gift card balance because I take advantage of short-term deals. In the past few months, Quiktrip has offered $5 off $25 Amazon GC (20% discount + 2% gas CC rewards). Best Buy has/had a deal with the Amex/Twitter thing where you got a $25 statement credit for $250 in purchases. You can buy kindle GCs at Amazon. Some grocery stores will periodically run deals like "buy $100 any gift card, get $20 coupon for groceries on your next trip."

I actually haven't used my forward yet because I'm still using up all of the 10%+ amazon money.

And, yes - Subscribe & Save is the best when you add Amazon Mom. 20% off every month for a delivery of 5+ items. I've never seen diapers, wipes, and formula so cheap. I also buy staple items for my household - pasta in bulk, pasta sauce, rice, ziploc, paper towels, toilet paper, garbage bags, detergent, pods, and kind bars!

I do this, plus I have the Forward as a backup. Ultimately UR>TYP, so I like to leave some $$ on the gift card balance in my account.

Also, I will clear random gift cards and credits by buying additional amazon GCs. They will eventually be used.

Hawaiian Airline mall rewards hawaiianmiles through Amazon. The miles can be converted to something of your liking i.e. Hilton points, etc...

I would advise against Chase Amazon. It's a lousy card, and it's Chase of which you can never have too many. I would close that card in a heartbeat if I haven't had it since the 90s. But wasting a Chase account on this now doesn't make sense in my book. Use Chase Freedom for the next 3 months or Discover like others suggested. Chase Freedom is a very valuable card and you will want to keep it beyond Amazon.

I agree. If this wasn't one of my older (2003) cards, I'd get rid of it. I'm honestly not sure what to do when I want another Chase card now, as I don't really want to cancel any of the ones I have. For Amazon I get lazy and just use this card most of the time. I have 100k points I don't know what to do with, because it seems like a waste to only get $0.01 per point when travel options can be better. The problem is I haven't found tickets expensive enough (3 weeks out, Saturday stay, domestic roundtrip all on the same airline) to bother using them. Maybe I should just buy a camera lens (but the ones I want would take more points than that.) I don't use the card for anything other than Amazon purchases. I have bought a few Vanilla Reloads with it, because it's technically profitable (2 pts/$ at CVS), but I stopped bothering with that. I've spent a LOT at Amazon the last decade it seems, though a lot of purchases are for my parents that I get reimbursed for because they know I do better with the rewards than they do, and I have Prime.

For Amazon purchases, if I wasn't so lazy, I'd go to the Staples 5 minutes away and buy Kindle GCs (good on anything at Amazon) with my Ink Bold for 5 UR/$.

Remember if you tick off Amazon and they ban you, they confiscate all your gift card funds loaded on your account.

The Sallie Mae card gives you 5% back on Amazon (category = bookstore).

Great tip... Never bothered looking at non-Visa GCs at office stores...

But, there is a monthly limit of $750. And, "fulfill by Amazon" purchases may or may not count 5%. Also, if you have to return something, they will deduct 5% even if you earned only 1%.

Went to Staples and got a $50 Amazon GC yesterday because I MISTAKENLY thought that I could use it to purchase an Amazon Local Deal. Wrong I emailed and got this very prompt reply:
So.....don't make my mistake Now I need to buy something on Amazon to resell on eBay to recoup my $50
