Churnable to get repeated 5x rewards?

Not possible
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/22871522-post710.html

Update April 16, 2016: Still Not Churnable

How to pay down CL quickly?
ACH push from other banks to wells fargo checking and then use that to pay credit card

Likely to get shut down if...?
- Have a negative balance
- Have a really high balance
- Cycling several times through your CL
- Calling in and getting caught by human eyes for suspicious activities.

To check what your 5X/5% window is:
In the rewards account, go to My Rewards -> Account Activity and the days left on the promo will show up at the top....looks like a pie chart.

To check which transactions get 5X/5% before your statement posts
Now, to check if new transactions are eligible for 5X before statement closes, go to "My Rewards" on the top and click "Activity" and set the start/end dates. You should see a "bonus earning" for 4% extra cash back for anything that's eligible.

Caps on 5x / 5%??
There are no more caps.

What to do when transaction not going through due to FA?

If I'm doing my math correctly, 120k points will yield $1,200 cash back or $1,800 in travel. For the six months the 5x is available, this is a "nice to have" for booking family trips and avoid blackout dates.

The travel redemptions look mediocre. Generic travel agent website. Prices seem to match Kayak. They add $24 per ticket for flight redemptions.

Also, this card is 0% APR for the first 12mo. I had no idea.

I've been cashing out all my points but thanks for showing me the points can be used for flights to improve their value.

Which card? I only see 1:1 for travel redemptions.

I have the Wells Fargo Rewards Card. 5x on gas, groceries, and drug stores. I used their travel tool to book two tickets, totaling $480 in retail. Normally, that would require 48k points, but it only required 32k points, which is a 1.5% on travel vs. 1% on cash redemption. Of course, you have to factor in the $48 booking fee ($24 per ticket) into the calculation, so it's a bit less than 1.5%.

I haven't seen any data on anybody successfully doing it. Their terms say no, but we know that might not mean anything. We will need a guinea pig. I'm only in month 5, so it won't be me. Go for it and let us know!

Has anybody used this card with Isis yet?
https://www.wellsfargo.com/isis
Seems like it would even be worth it to buy the overpriced $69 iPhone case. Not sure if CVS will allow contactless for VR purchases.

There is a 5x points card and a 5% cash back card. I would start with the other product.

no this card is not churnable. I tried to get the cashback after having the reward card for 6 months. I got it and it did not offer the promotion even though I signed up through that link. I've cancelled both cards and now I am waiting for them to disappear from my wells fargo online account. Once that happens I think we can reapply.

But your wife/significant other can apply and get the card. We have a joint checking account too and she was still able to get the 5% promo. So I am hoping once her 6 months is over in August I will be able to reapply if the offer is available.

So, $4k in spending per month if my math is right?

Correct. Once my wife and I met our minimum spends on our other offers, we've been using this card heavily at CVS until our next round of applications.

How do you go about spending $120k in 5 months? I realize BB and VR and all that but thats $24k a month which seems like it would be hard to justify coming from drug stores, and wally world.

I think he accumulated 120k in 6 months.
That's 4k spent a month x 5.

I do not think he is spending 24k a month at CVS.
If so 120k x 5 will yield him 600k points.
