Cancelled (But not really) Cards?
During a recon call today, I was asked why I'd cancelled previous cards. The cards brought up apparently appeared cancelled on my credit report, but they're not... they're just not being actively used (haven't had a balance in months).
Did the rep misread the credit report, or should I contact the issuers to find out what's going on? The cards are both less than 1 year old. Thanks.

They might have been canceled but the issuer. This was common a few years ago when banks were afraid of having too many liabilities. You want to keep cards in your active credit file. So you should use reach card a couple of times a year.

I called and cancelled a card over a year ago, but the bank just sent me replacement cards for that account. I had decided to stop using it because the bank didn't report my credit limit on it, so the different credit agencies saw it as me using 100% of the available credit for that card even though my balance would be low and nowhere near the credit limit I actually had on the card. I'm sure it affected my credit score, so I just cancelled the card.
