Interesting Barclay blog entry on how they decide CLI and CLD. This would have been helpful to the OP:
Part 1 Part 2 Look at the left side of the graph in part 2. That is where most of us live. Edit: Maybe someone should show a 15% balance on 150K open credit and see if that works in getting card #3 or more. |

Marathon, not a sprint! :)

Got denied from Barclays on my last nfl churn. So was concerned they would deny the arrival card, as last nfl rejection was about 4 months or so. Low and behold they approved the arrival, 10k cl.

It was a business decision on their part, nothing personal.
You want the card put some money in their bank, Barclay is a good bank, Chase just has a lower risk rate, Look in the mirror and clean it up, or move on. 90k and 740 is average in this world. Not good, not bad after taxes 45k in the real world, Taxes and bills seem to cut into the spend of 3000 a month charge, Barclay is keeping score, it is not a game to them, just a business. Wait 4 months and re apply, happens |
Barclays US MC gives Visa info for car rental insurance, and large purchase problems?
I'm irked at Barclays Bank, which issued my US Airways MasterCard.
First: I wanted to make a $10,000 purchase at Lowe's. I called Barclays before doing the transaction and was told, "everything will be fine". (I had about $15k in available credit.) However, time and time again, I'd try the transaction and it would be declined and would trigger a fraud alert...so I'd call Barclays again and would be told, "we've cleared out your account, it's fine now, and the charge will go through..." and it wouldn't. I finally gave up and used my AmEx. Second: I had a small ding on a rental car and filed a claim for the damage with Barclays' MasterCard benefits department. The number I was given was 800 348-8472, and the associated website is eclaimsline.com. So when I then gave the info regarding the claim to National, the rental car company, they came back and said that my claim and coverage were not valid because I used a MasterCard for the transaction, but 800-348-8472 and eclaimsline.com are for Visa. I have gone around and around with Barclays and they insist that the contact info that I was given is valid for my MasterCard...but eclaimsline.com is clearly a Visa site. (Nobody who I speak with at 800-348-8472 will mention the word MasterCard.) I'm about to run out of time if I need to have validly filed a claim within 45 days of the initial damage. Has anyone else had these problems? |
A simple google search use keyword Mastercard rental car insurance coverage, found this listed among the top 5 links on the 1st page
http://www.mastercard.com/tt/persona...er_rental.html Why dont you call them and ask if your US Airways card is among them? The good folks at MasterRental could identify your card is eligible or not. |

Contact the Facebook or Twitter team. They're a lot more helpful than the phone CSRs.

1-800-348-8472 is the right number. It is listed in both the new and old benefits guide for Barclaycard World MasterCard cards.
