I think it's just faster FTers got together and created our own credit union. XD

Credit cards are not covered by the Durbin amendment, so I have no idea what you're trying to ask here. Who is "they" and how are they "killing" debit cards?

They = certain members of Congress like Dick who don't understand banks aren't 501(c)3 corporations.

Further decreasing debit interchange and you WILL see debit cards get killed by banks, or at least the perks. How long can things like my Schwab ATM fee reimbursement last?

Do you really think Dick doesn't want to kill credit cards also and hurt customers to benefit Walmart, Target, Kroger, etc?

Last I checked Walmart and Target aren't 501(c)(3) corporations either.

Since most people are customers of both banks and retailers, saying that hurting banks = hurting customers is rather ridiculous.

Neither debit nor credit cards are at any risk of getting "killed" by banks. In fact, banks very creatively started pushing a new product, "prepaid" cards, to get around the new regulations.

Alaska Airlines Debit Card

Could someone please point me in the direction of the Alaska Airlines Debit Card thread (if it exists)? I'm looking for info on success with loading BB/paying CC bills at WM/buying MOs on a consistent basis and the risk level associated with doing all of the above (i.e. will BofA close my account or just not give me the points if they don't like it?) If no such thread exists, perhaps people would be willing to share their own stories here?

Here's one thread: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/alask...ebit-card.html

Not sure if it really helps your questions though.
