Called Barclays today for my Aviator Red. Successfully waived the AF and received an offer for 5000 miles on $1000 in 90 days.

Way too easy, third time getting it waived. Helps that I get 10k miles per year on it too.

Update: I closed the account, but got a fee waiver. Will reapply once the new card comes out.

That requirement was met as well in late June (same transaction). Her most recent statement closed 7/24 and it shows 15K earned AA miles. I would've expected her to get 15K + 5K. Are you guys getting the 15K promo miles before the 5K retention miles?
Yes, be patient.

Any idea if activity on this card extends the 3 year expiration of Lufthansa miles?

Please see the Wikipost of:
It explains that you have to use this card very regularly (not just once in a while) to avoid the expiration (and provides a link to the T&Cs explaining that).

Lufthansa Miles & More cards (2). $79 fee due after first year, minimum spend only. Downgraded card terms to 1 mile earned for $2 spent, no fee. No new cards, no credit pull. Offered three other bonuses-we chose 5,000 bonus miles after $1,000 spend in next three months.

I don't have 90 posts so can't edit the wiki

Aviator Red. Had for a few years
called a few days ago. AF waived after being sent to retention specialist. Also was offered 5k for $1k/90days. Probably spent less than a thousand in the past year

I am aware of the requirement, I was asking if the same benefit applied to the no-AF LF card.

Got the af waiver, 5k spend bonus for $1k in 90 days and a CL increase without hard pull.

I'm surprised people turn down the CL increase without hard pull - it helps your credit rating.

Called today to waive the fee on the Aviator Red, hoping for the 5k miles for $1000 spend. While I was going through the automated intro to get to a representative, I was given an offer for 1.5x spend for the next few months. I thought, "Why not?" and pressed a button to accept. Eventually got to a representative who willingly waived the annual fee, but when pressed she could not find an offer for any bonus points for additional spending. She mentioned that I already receive 1.5x points on spending. I am assuming that accepting this offer took the better offers off the table.

Maybe it was the only offer on the table.

But lowers your possibility of auto approval on new Barclay cards which are already hard to get.

Increasing CL only improves your credit rating if you are otherwise getting marked down for carrying a balance too high relative to the CL. There's no other way it helps. And a higher CL can actively hurt your credit rating as it raises your overall risk exposure.

A higher credit line does not hurt FICO scores. It can only help. Even if you only let $2 on one card report, a higher credit line helps.
