Which CC for purchase of MacBook Pro?

I am getting ready to buy a MacBook Pro as a Christmas gift. I am struggling with when to buy and which CC to use. I have the Chase Sapphire Preferred, Ink Bold, and SPG Amex. I think that the Amex card will give me a additional year of warranty, but I remember someone saying that they received 10X the points from Best Buy last year on Black Friday for using their Bold card. 10X would be over 10,000 points and that sounds hard to pass up. Any suggestions. I am a newbie and would appreciate your advise!!

AFAIK Sapphire gives you the extended warranty as well.

Whichever card you use, also look at going through the Aadvantage eshopping portal (or whichever portal is your favorite) for AA miles on top of the CC points you get.

I got a targeted 3x miles offer on my AA Visa for (among other categories) electronics stores for October through December. Are there other cards doing bonuses for electronic stores this quarter?

It was probably an overall electronics stores purchase bonus, rather than one specifically for Best Buy, that was around last year.

An electronics store bonus should work not only at Best Buy, but also at the Apple Store and other computer stores. (But you'd have to check on the specific terms of the bonus to see if it works online, in brick and mortar, or both. If only in brick and mortar, obviously you can't stack it with an online shopping mall.)

Last year for Black Friday, I think the Ultimate Rewards shopping portal also gave 10x UR points as well. The mall also had a BIG BIG sale for electronics, with almost 25% off if you use your UR pts to buy them.

plus paying with points = no taxes which increases the $/pt ratio. Loved cyber monday (& tues) last year!

You should first determine which store has the best price. If more than one are close, find out which one will get you more miles. Go to evreward.com or nerdwallet.com to find out which shopping portal will give you the best bonus.

Freedom (which is assume you have given that you have those other cards) is 5x points at Best Buy this quarter. Isn't the UR Mall 10x points at Best Buy right now? That would be 15x points buying w/ Freedom through UR Mall.

Chase Freedom 5x at Best Buy for 4th quarter is for up to $1,500 in spend (a MacBook Pro would definitely be more than that!). Best Buy in UR Mall is only 1x points, unfortunately.

As a general rule, you won't find Apple products discounted very much, although things like bonus points are allowed. I'd wait until at least November to evaluate EOY promotions.

Laptop computers are the only purchase for which I buy extended warranties -- something has gone wrong right after warranty expiration on probably half the laptops I've owned. I've been pleased with the Visa Warranty Manager option available with Visa Signature cards; they double the manufacturer warranty for free and offer extended service agreements at half the cost of AppleCare. It's also only available if you charge the purchase to the card, not if you pay with points.

Paytonc...So my Sapphire Preferred Visa will give me that choice. I had planned to buy the AppleCare warranty. How do I find out more about the service agreement/warranty with Visa?

Thanks for all the replies. Since I am saving my UR points for a special trip, I don't think I would like to use points to buy the Macbook Pro, but I would like to find where I can GAIN the most points with my purchase. Most points, plus the best warranty option. Does anyone remember if the UR Mall for Best buy had 10X points on Black Friday last year?
