Copa going down hill fast
I have over the years flown Copa numerous times and they were always great.
In the last 3 weeks My family and me have flown 3 times and the FA's are getting going down hill fast on par with the US airlines. For two weeks it is impossible to change seats or check in or do any thing with any existing reservation on their website. I just called and talked to a very unhelpful rep.
I guess I will have to quit them and just use UA, AA, LAn or Taca for my southern travels from now . Just venting from the worthless rep I just talked to on the phone

I haven't experienced any service problems with Copa of late (though my last flights with them were about 3-4 months ago), but what does have me concerned are their unusually high airfares of late for those of us flying out of Mexico City. They used to match any sale from their big regional competitors in this market (Aeromexico/Avianca/Taca/LAN), but not anymore. Strange. So, LAN has become my new "go to" airline for Latin America.

I actually enjoyed my latest COPA travels. The website is horrible, however, I found that I can do my seat adjustments via thier mobile website - not the app (doesn't let u manage your reservation), but simply logging in to their mobile site.
Their new C chairs are far beyond what domestic F can offer on US carriers, and I found the soft product to be not bad at all (good food, nice service). I guess it's a matter of luck, as with any airlines around the world.

COPA has become a lot less price competitive in the last year. For example right now I am trying to book MDE-MIA next week, and they are way more expensive than AV or AA for a 1-stop trip. AV is even cheaper for the non-stop.
However, I have not had any problems with the COPA website. I change seats all of the time. I think it is working much better than in the past. I would say, though, that the seat selection process is not intuitive, and that may be why some users have problems.
I agree that you can get some not-so-good FA's, though IME I run into that about 25% of the time.
Calling COPA is painful, since anything they do takes forever. Even if you have a helpful agent, you have to wait forever as they make changes.
I still prefer COPA because they have never misconnected me, PTY is easy to navigate, and their tie to the Mileage Plus Program.

Traveled 13 days ago D & U Fares with Mileage Plus #printed on boarding passes and entered upon purchase. Guess I'll be submitting missing miles form in two more days... How long to credit miles is it taking you guys that have traveled lately? Thx.

Until my last trip, I have never had any problem with miles being posted from COPA. My last trip was the first I have done (I think) that was purchased as a COPA reservation, but included UA metal. None of the COPA legs have posted yet, though the UA leg posted in 2 days. The one leg was now 21 days ago, so I need to start the credit process.

Copa is currently updating their website, and at the same time updating their Shares. It is causing bumpy website issues the past couple of weeks, but I believe they will get it worked out as the training advances.
As en example, checking in at PTY yesterday, their computer could not find SAP code in their system. They had a few IT types behind the counter trying to jot down bugs and get things fixed. I've not had problems with upgrades at the proper windows, but getting the seats is hit or mis on the website.

Everything finally posted without any action on my part about 4 weeks after the first leg.
In the meantime, I had a trip that was all COPA (no UA metal). The miles from that posted in 8 days.
