I was one if the lucky folks on Flight 128 from GIG-IAH that had to be diverted to Miami due to injuries.
I am just looking for comments on what you would do in my position.
1) There was an unattended minor setting next to me and the cabin crew was too busy to do anything for her. I had to basically bug the sh*t out of them to get water, medication etc for this young girl.
2) This young lady puked all over my custom made shirt and jeans. Again I had to find towels and wipe the puke off of this young lady and myself. I asked about compensation and was told that I had to do it at the time of the occurrence. Now let me tell you.... the only thing I was looking for after that flight was a bottle of whiskey.
3) I had to lift an elderly man back into his seat during the turbulence because no one else would help at my on peril.
4) I live in Singapore and have spent many hours discussing this situation at my expense trying to come to some sort of resolution.
The airline was nice enough to offer everyone a refund of the one way ticket but since this was booked by my company through a travel agent I will never see a dime. I was offered a voucher for this amount to travel at a future date but I felt that this did not go far enough.
I was offered the upgrade to gold (I am about 10k shy of it) as long as I applied for the chase card by continental. I told them that at one time I had a chase account and as long as I am breathing I will never have another account with them.
At this point I was told to piss off. I told them that I would never fly continental again and that is where it was left.
Maybe I am a jerk but I do NOT believe that I was asking too much. I mean come on they gave me 5k just for a broken LCD before. I have had lots of malfunctioning equipment on CO flights but just never complained because it was such a hassle.
Funny thing is North West offered me a deal if I cut up my One Pass card and mailed it to them...
Is it just me or is continental going out of their way to lose customers?
Kurt

CO's post-incident CS is quite possibly the worst in the industry. There are counltess posts about how bad WE CARE is.
That said, if you were willing to take the 1-way cash refund had it been your own money, you should've taken the voucher. The voucher offer was because you couldn't (wouldn't) take the credit to your company's card.
