Secure Flight: Full Names?
Hey, does anyone know about Continental's implementation of the Secure Flight system? I'm noticing that OnePass signup still only takes in a middle initial, so I'm wondering if they would take a name change to change it to a full middle name.

I am interested in this as well. When I looked into this a few months back (detailed here) http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/conti...t-30-days.html as best as I could tell the airlines had until August to start to supply the info to the TSA per Secure Flight. I updated my name with OP then, but was only able to get a middle initial added and not my full middle name.

I'll gladly tell the TSA to go screw themselves if they give me a hassle over an initial, and walk right into the 'secure' area.
If it is good enough to have a middle initial to sign my life away on a mortgage it is good enough to board a plane!
Luckily not been hassled over it so far, don't expect to be, but will gladly stand up if that time comes.

The TSA's schedule on this is a joke. Each carrier has their own negotiated start date for the collection and there are no systems on the TSA side to actually feed the data into yet or to check it. It'll be some time in 2010 before it actually matters.

Is it hard to change your name on the One Pass information? Can you do it by phone, or do I need a note from the Pope or Dalai Lama? My account has a suffix (Jr.) with it (I included that when I signed up to differentiate my mail and such from my father) but my driver's license does not, and no middle initial where my license does. The passport I got a couple of years ago has the middle initial and suffix, but I don't want to take that domestic.

Our corporate travel agency has had the FULL pitcher of Kool-Aid from TSA. They are requiring our air travel name match our drivers license or passport. Of course that means I needed to change the name on my OP account. Called the Elite line, who transfered me to regualar OP line. I was asked to send or fax a letter explaining what I needed and a copy of the DL or passport. The name change was taken care of in less than a week and I received a new OP card on a couple of weeks. Now I don't get any hassle from the TSA Barney Fifes.

FWIW
Several folks who should know have told me that
an initial as long as it matches is sufficient
