I have flown every Chrismtas Day from EWR - BUF since 1986, and since CO went with EMB's on the route, I have always had 1A. I generally tip them becuase it's Christmas, and I sit near them during taxi, etc, and they are almost always very friendly, and I feel bad for them working on Xmas. They have all accepted the tip in the past!
Last Xmas after my arrival in BUF, she had to fly back to EWR, and then to Manchester NH.......I thought is was a nice thing to do for her.

AGREED!
Sometimes in coach folks will tip when purchasing an alchoholic beverage, and it makes me feel weird accepting it...I only handed a mini and filled a TINY cup with a mixer. It's not as if I am controlling the amount of alcohol and therefore altering the taste of the beverage.
OTOH, I realize that some of the folks who tip that first time around are hoping for a freebie on the next run....which is just not something we are allowed to offer.

On a TATL flight I just completed on Delta two PAX brought with them a bag of fancy chocolates that they gave to the FAs. One of the PAX was using crutches because of a knee problem and did ask for ice to refill his ice bag. What surprised me was how friendly the FAs acted after getting the chocolates and they kept coming by and asking how the PAX were doing, did they need anything, and in a sort of attempt at secrecy gave them an amenity kit from the business elite class (they and I were in coach). As I usually fly CO, this was a rare Delta flight that I took because I didn't have to change planes, nonstop to Venice, and otherwise I found I like CO better, so I am wondering if I should start bringing chocolates to the FAs, particularly on TATL and TPAC flights ...

I bring sealed packages of cookies / chocolates on flights when the FAs are working holidays or on days with profoundly bad IRROPs. Does indeed seem to brighten the day of many FAs (and makes my flight smoother, even in F).

I think tipping FAs is poor behavior, and I think I've only seen this at LAS and at SVO, generally by drunk men wearing track suits and way too much jewelry, flashing a roll of cash. FAs demured but eventually accepted, but not without disdain.
Only thing more annoying is going into a Starbuck's and seeing a "tip jar."

I have only seen good looking female FAs with AA over on Eagle, unless you like them 50+
