Codeshare Miles question
Hi folks. I am newish to the CO forum, a recent refugee from the dark side (Skyteam). Perhaps everyone else knows about this, but can someone clue me in as to why codeshare flights on ASA do not show miles (EQM or otherwise) on a trip summary? I am booked on an itinerary that includes CO 3575 SLC-IAH in W, and that leg shows a blank for miles. 100% of zero to be sure, but still zero, and the trip total ignores this leg. A call to CO elite desk did not help. Thanks in advance.

Are you talking about during the booking process or in your OnePass account after a flight? The ASA flights will definitely earn (for now), though only at 50% for a W fare, regardless of what they display during the booking screen.

I am referring to the booking process, and to the on-line reservation summary, before departure. So what you are saying is that for a ticket purchased on CO.com, with a CO coded flight number, and it says 100% EQM on the summary, that it will actually only generate 50% EQM, although it currently has has a blank for the base miles, and does not presently count any of the miles at all? What a curious way to run an airline. I take it nobody knows their miles until they actually post...? Or am I missing something.

In this case there is a known bug (for a couple years now) where the flight is CO-coded and purchased on co.com but it is operated by DL's express operation and therefore only earns 50% EQMs on the discount fares. Some have reported success with calling the OPSC and getting their 100% EQMs based on what the website says in the booking process, but a strict interpretation of the rules is that you are entitled to 50%.

Great! Thanks. I suppose this particular bug will fix itself come October when CO departs ST, and there is no question about EQMs.
