I've seen this on IAH-CLE and IAH-EWR flights (and reverse). Someone said before that if the flight is more than 33% (I think that # was the one used) elites in coach, then they'll board by elite level.

DCA-IAH flights (and vice versa) on Monday and Friday afternoons easily can reach the 50+ elite mark.
I am also see myself way down the list at times - with few below me - which means all the Elites on the flight are Plat with few Golds/Silvers. CO has almost made CO Plat the only real Elite level. Would like to get revised numbers from CO at the DO on upgrades versus wallet candy (Plat given away) numbers. |

Also, the "Customers Upgraded" list displays Y-up's (and presumably B-up's), QUOTE] I got "Burped" for my EWR-IAH flight this Friday for the DO and I do not show up on the upgrade list... |

West Coast UG very rare
I've found upgrades on nearly any LAX flight very difficult, but all but impossible on LAX-EWR. My suspicion too is that with the UA codeshare, CO won't be too keen on expanding presence on in Cali.

IAH-DCA on Monday AM there were 56 on the upgrade list - none cleared.

I think a lot of it may be B-ups. As a plat traveling on a moderately expensive coach ticket (e.g. the old K or M fare classes, I forget what they are now) the last few flights I have seen myself near the top of the upgrade list on checkin -- but with FC already full with 10-15 upgraders (out of 16-20 seats). Of course they could all be mileage or Y-ups, but I doubt it.

I was upgraded SAN-IAH 2/2 five days out.
|
Flying BWI-IAH-SEA tomorrow (Feb 4) in L class.
I'm plat and was upgraded for both segments at the 5-day window. |
DCA - SFO/LAX Almost impossible to upgrade
Twice this month I flew DCA-IAH-SFO-EWR-DCA and had 0/8 elegible segments upgrade.
In the most recet trip, with an E fare, in a friday, in a 738 and Platinum I was #16 (DCA-IAH) in the UG list, after all the upgrades were done and F was check in in full. Then I was #13 in a IAH-SFO, in 752... The return SFO-EWR I was #4 after all the upgrades were done... EWR-DCA...#15.... Maybe I should fly Virgin from IAD and in less than 4 hours Im in SF... without the hassle of connecting and hoping for an upgrade... |
jer-z-girl and i are 8/9 so far this year, including return from the do iah-sea. still have a chance to be 9/9 if we get the outbound.
|
CO gives free upgrades? I'm Platinum and never heard of such a thing ;)
SFO-EWR is a nightmare. I never get the EUA. Ever. |
