Checking someone else in on a different itinerary
Hi guys,
I had a quick question for you. Tomorrow, my mother has a flight to Cleveland and I'm taking her to the airport and checking her in. As a NW Gold, I was wondering whether I would be able to come in with her and check her in using the elite line, even though I'm not flying. There's some pretty long lines over the holidays to check in and it would be a lot easier for her if I could get her checked in with her bags in the elite line. Is it possible to do this even if I'm not flying?
Thanks.

You're probably not supposed to use the line if you aren't traveling, but you'll probably get away with it, especially if you do it and ask for a gate pass to escort her to the gate for the flight. You won't get the bags checked for free, however, as that requires the elite status on the reservation being checked in.
