Continental Express FA recognizing status
Hello everyone. I've been lurking around the forums for a few months and finally got the courage up to make my first post (first of many I suspect).
Anyway, about 90% of my travel with Continental is on ERJ's (I think my butt-imprint is on just about every 12A or 9A in the fleet). Even as a plat for the last 8 years, I've gotten completely used to not getting any special service on these flights other than being able to pick the exit row when I book the ticket and board early. The other week, I had a very pleasant surprise that I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced.
After takeoff and before the beverage service, the FA came through the cabin with the passenger list and personally thanked (by name) all the platinums for our business and asked us if we needed anything. I know it doesn't seem like a big deal but it made me feel good to be recognized for my loyalty even on a single-class aircraft. I even took the FA's name and sent a note to customer care about how she was able to show a little extra consideration for her platinum customers without taking away from the service received by the rest of the plane.
Just curious if anyone out there has had a similar experience.
If I can get the ok from Ms. GadFly, I'm hoping to meet a bunch of you down in Houston.....I'll either be on EWR-IAH or PHL-IAH and will post the details when I book it.

Book CO657 from PHL on the 6th. The first couple rounds of drinks will be free.

Generally, however, I find ExpressJet to be a good, reliable regional carrier, and I don't mind flying with them.

for the past several years flying with ExJet doesn't bother me at all. A bad day on CoEx is better than giving a nickel to that putz

agreed...
... with the general sentiment that ExJet has some good FA's. Perhaps it's because they have good training, perhaps it's because they're younger and less jaded/bored/fed up. Any way you slice it, I always appreciate a friendly greeting and service with a smile.
I remember flying an ERJ-135 LGA-CLE on Mothers' Day, 2006, and the FA greeted each Elite by name and by status, and thanked us for our business. Once again, it wasn't a huge deal, but I appreciated (and obviously, remembered) the gesture.
It's the little stuff that makes all the difference, and it's a good part of the reason I've chosen to be loyal to CO.

Several years ago I got a pre-departure drink on X-Jet. The FA came up to 12A and told me how much they appreciated my business and asked if I would like a drink before we departed. Some of the other PAX were trying to figure out if I was some sort of celeb...It never happened before, and never happened again.

I have recieved that kind of service twice, both on flights from IAH-to Omaha,
but not on the return? It was nice. Got my food first and a drink.
Welcome to Flyertalk!
