Help with 24-hour refund
I just made a reservation on Continental.com, only to realise 10 minutes later that I had typoed and spelt my first name with my middle initial tied on the end. I cancelled my reservation straight away and applied for a refund in the original form of payment (card). I'd like to re-book as soon as possible, but would like to know if it is wise to wait until my refund is processed before re-booking? I don't want my refund to be rejected, and have complied with the 24-hour refund policy so it shouldn't be a problem, but am paranoid about it being rejected. Thoughts?

You can go ahead and book the new reservation. If you cancelled within 10 minutes you probably will not even see the charge appear on your credit card statment.

Actually, you can make changes to the reservation within 24 hours for no fee so you can probably just call CO and fix the spelling error.

Thanks! Re-booking now, and according to the form where I entered my name the first time, I DID spell it correctly, so I don't know why my middle initial had been added to it...I decided to play it safe this time and leave out the middle initial altogether, since it's my wallet that's paying for this, and I don't want to have a pesky change fee on my hands.

The middle initial appended to the first name is normal and not a problem at all. It would not cause any trouble with the airline nor with the TSA.

You may want to consider making a CO account, and then you can just pull your name down from the list of travellers. That way you eliminate the typo possibility.
I never type my name in when booking a ticket. The only time I've made errors like that are on other airline sites where I don't have an account.
