CO Promos
I am jumping over to OnePass after being WorldPerks for several years. NWA usually has some great mile building promotions for activities over a period. Does CO do these types of promos and are they on par, better or worse than NWA?
Thanks!

Much, much, much worse. Every now and then you'll get something like mileathon, but there haven't been many CO promos for a while now.
I think that CO sees themselves as having a decent enough product that they don't need to run the promos to get them to collect the miles. Or they aren't interested in selling the miles as much. Or some other reason. But there aren't many promos.

I agree that CO is much, much, much worse for building miles. If you're in SEA, why would you switch to CO anyway?

Steve Sicle (sp?), who ran OnePass around the turn of the century, use to have a saying: Every Mile has its cost.
That pretty much sums up CO' attitude toward promotions. The are pretty much at the bottom of the barrel in this area.

I would think that there are more Promos, when there are more empty seats. That does not seem to be a problem now with less flights to fill and higher fuel costs!

From reading the miles building posts on this CO board they best way to do it, is to somehow get the American Express 50,000 mile promotion, and tranfer the miles to CO before the one year cutoff to avoid the annual. And the same goes for the Chase World card, and their deal runs between 25,000 and 40,000 miles at different times of the year. Both of these cards have annual fees at the one year anniversary. This explains why these cards are best cards, with the best service in the industry for 364 days, but, on that 365th day, they become the card from hell with awful service, requiring immediate cancellation. (if you see the point)

Thanks for the info. I wonder if the new Delta\NW will be any good.
