That would be great. I'm going to make a reservation for 15 at Scheltema just to be safe.

Good choice - somehow I think we are more the beer stein crowd - wood table top - rather than table cloth set.

I arrive on Thurs am. I will scope out something less formal for Friday night for those interested in Friday night. Thursday night - I will likely see what they serve in the Marriott Concierge lounge.

Post #1 updated with restaurant information.

I'm proposing we meet in the lobby at the Marriott around 18:00. If we stick to the plan of going to Scheltema, we can walk over for our 18:30 reservation. If cova finds a restaurant more fitting for our group, we can go there instead.

i sent out my scout!

My roommate just worked a trip to Brussels this week. He said he went with his crew to Amadeo, an amazing rib restaurant. http://www.amadeo-brussels.com/

He had nothing but amazing things to say about it. Check out this article too. http://gloriousfoodandwinerestaurant...05/amadeo.html

They have a wide variety of foods, beer, and wines they "measure" how much you drink. They have unlimited ribs with sides for a great price.

Don't know if the location will work for us, but we could check it out. If not for the official dinner, then at least it's a great place to dine when we're not together.

I'm getting excited now! Think I'm gonna stay the extra day and go home Monday instead of Sunday.

Got a recommendation on my flight to BSL last night for the club in the basement of the Royal Windsor hotel right by the Grand Place. Apparently itis a nightclub that operates 11pm to sunrise on the weekend.

I am flexible. The first choice restaurant may be a little on the high side - say $100 for dinner. With some staying at the youth hostel for $20 a night, maybe $100 for dinner is a little unbalanced. There is always Friday night for ribs.

I'd be fine with the rib place for Fri. Seems good.

I'm pretty flexible for Saturday as well. Be it Scheltema or whatever other place is picked. I hadn't yet looked at the bars in the list, but if one of them offers food, it might be a good idea to start there. Get sustenance AND start on the brews early!

cova, just noticed we're on the same flight outbound. Methinks we'll need to start the festivities on the right foot at the PC prior to departure and laugh at all the others who will still be working on Thursday. :D

Thanks to my sometimes impossible Swiss boss, I haven't a clue when I will get to BRU. It still looks like I will fly up from GVA on Friday night, though if I am stateside I am going to piece something together, perhaps through LON.

Yes, we can start at the PC (gate 120) on the 14th. We have a 4 hour connection time - so I expect to be at the PC around 2:30pm, unless off course the flights from DCA-EWR are delayed. I viewed the 3pm departure from DCA as too risky, hence the 1pm departure. PM me - I can send you my cell phone.

I am not picky about where we eat dinner, as long as it is decent.

I don't think it will be quite $100, but it depends on what one gets. They have a prix fixe for 32 Eur that includes a beer, appetizer, and main course. So, if we keep the drinking to a few beers at the restaurant, we could probably get out of there well under 50 Eur each.

The prix fixe was one of the main reasons why I chose this restaurant as one of the "finalists". The place seems to have decent food and the prices are not as bad as some of the other nicer restaurants I came across in Brussels.
