This sounds like something idiotic UA would do not CO!
Too bad for me that I have a disease that can only be treated with medication that causes body weight to increase drastically.
Im forced to carry and extra 50+ libs! Im 6'2 and 220 now I dont want the extra weight.
Maybe you might pay my overage for me ? or maybe you would like the diease im stuck with instead ? it includes a wheelchair too!

Go to the Tonight Show page that allows you to view old shows. Look for the June 4, 2008 show

I wholeheartedly support this idea. Base rate + overage fees. Considering 75% of my flying is a same day trip, why should I pay for any excess baggage that I'm not carrying with me? That includes the weight on me.

Oh another wonderful revenue idea. A $7 No Checked Luggage Convenience Fee. Also new will be $2 Cell Phone ($3 for PDA's) carriage fee as well as a $4 / iPod (or simular device) carriage fee. Then there will be the $50 fine for not appearing to be paying attention to the safety briefing/video.

Stop clowning arounds clowns - you only need 1 bag per person
Continental needs to be proactive and stop beating around the bush and be the first to implement Continental Pay By Weight(CPBW). Basically, you will make a reservation w/ a price similar to today's system, then upon arrival at the airport, you and your luggage will be weighed and you will either 1) be charged extra for being 'over weight' or receive a refund for being 'under weight'. All of the BS charges for extra luggage, etc etc are removed and CO will be better able to estimate a flight's fuel consumption, profitability based on weight. Give me one second to put on my flame resistant overalls....

of luggage.

TSA in bed with the Airlines as usual
to weigh you in while going through security and stamp a secret weight code on your BP to ensure "your privacy" and ensure the collection of the extra weight dollars ?

Ah Ya Rawhide
To maximize profits, let's set the base price on a passenger weighing 99 lbs, US Customary Units. All others pay $1.23 / additional pound (funny number includes taxes, fees, etc.) There will be a scale installed in floor at the bording area. As you board the plane, any passenger weighing more than 99 lbs. will need to swipe their credit card to pay the additional fare. (I'm joking about this plan)
Mooooooooooooooooo.

Uh Huh
I am 6'7" and 240 and not more than a few pounds overweight. If BigFly or someone who weighs only 120 thinks they should pay less, fine. But hen I should get twice as much legroom and seatroom since I am paying more. No more having y seats for only those who weigh 150 or less.
in the cargo-hold as freight or strapped to the wings for ballast....
