Too bad for me that I have a disease that can only be treated with medication that causes body weight to increase drastically.

Im forced to carry and extra 50+ libs! Im 6'2 and 220 now I dont want the extra weight.
Maybe you might pay my overage for me ? or maybe you would like the diease im stuck with instead ? it includes a wheelchair too!

IRC? Now I'm starting to get nostalgic back to the days of 1996! I should call up WNBC or Jay Leno and ask what chatroom it was....:D

Go to the Tonight Show page that allows you to view old shows. Look for the June 4, 2008 show

I wholeheartedly support this idea. Base rate + overage fees. Considering 75% of my flying is a same day trip, why should I pay for any excess baggage that I'm not carrying with me? That includes the weight on me.

Oh another wonderful revenue idea. A $7 No Checked Luggage Convenience Fee. Also new will be $2 Cell Phone ($3 for PDA's) carriage fee as well as a $4 / iPod (or simular device) carriage fee. Then there will be the $50 fine for not appearing to be paying attention to the safety briefing/video.

Can CO charge us $5 to read this forum?

Very funny OP!

I would think charging by weight would be a big incentive to get people moving to finally lose that weight and get healthy. Could have some good indirect effects on our population.

Wish it was that easy

Basically, you will make a reservation w/ a price similar to today's system, then upon arrival at the airport, you and your luggage will be weighed and you will either 1) be charged extra for being 'over weight' or receive a refund for being 'under weight'. All of the BS charges for extra luggage, etc etc are removed and CO will be better able to estimate a flight's fuel consumption, profitability based on weight. Only selfish jerks, idiots and clowns carry more than ONE 40 pound bag
of luggage.:D

TSA in bed with the Airlines as usual

Could it be that the airlines get sneaky and conspire with TSA
to weigh you in while going through security and stamp a secret weight code on your BP to ensure "your privacy" and ensure the collection of the extra weight dollars ? :D

As you board the plane, any passenger weighing more than 99 lbs. will need to swipe their credit card to pay the additional fare. (I'm joking about this plan)

They have that figured out. Anyone weighing over 150 pounds rides
in the cargo-hold as freight or strapped to the wings for ballast....:D

Hey, you try finding lightweight rubber noses when you've got a latex allergy. That plus the seltzer bottle case and you're talking serious weight.
