Too bad for me that I have a disease that can only be treated with medication that causes body weight to increase drastically. Im forced to carry and extra 50+ libs! Im 6'2 and 220 now I dont want the extra weight. Maybe you might pay my overage for me ? or maybe you would like the diease im stuck with instead ? it includes a wheelchair too!:mad: |

I wholeheartedly support this idea. Base rate + overage fees. Considering 75% of my flying is a same day trip, why should I pay for any excess baggage that I'm not carrying with me? That includes the weight on me.

I would think charging by weight would be a big incentive to get people moving to finally lose that weight and get healthy. Could have some good indirect effects on our population. |

Continental needs to be proactive and stop beating around the bush and be the first to implement Continental Pay By Weight(CPBW). Basically, you will make a reservation w/ a price similar to today's system, then upon arrival at the airport, you and your luggage will be weighed and you will either 1) be charged extra for being 'over weight' or receive a refund for being 'under weight'.
