Wouldn't elites get a weight credit on the overage on the average weight such as:

Silver 25 pound allowance
Gold 50 pound allowance
Plat 75 pound allowance

Plus high revenue low body weight would be used as one facto in calculating CO*

I am 6'7" and 240 and not more than a few pounds overweight. If BigFly or someone who weighs only 120 thinks they should pay less, fine. But hen I should get twice as much legroom and seatroom since I am paying more. No more having y seats for only those who weigh 150 or less.

Well, if you pay twice as much there is a chance that you can buy F seats on most routes. That isn't 2x the room, but I'm sure it would be more comfortable fore you. ;)

I ask again (as I did in another thread), would you get a rebate for using the lav? I'm not kidding.

KD5MDK May 30, 2008 2:13 pm

Only if they start dumping waste inflight.

Ah ha! Another nick and dime revenue idea. Pay toilets. $10 per use and a time limit too.

There was a news story a few years ago about a big chunk of ice coming through somebody's roof. But speaking of waste, an anecdote:

At the height of the Vietnam bombing, as an young one-bar air refueling navigator, we went TDY to provide required training hookups to 17th AF units at Gretchen Anchor. If all the fighters scheduled didn't show up after time on track, on the way back down to EDAF, we'd dump the remaining fuel starting at 18000 feet --100K lbs or more-- so as not to land with partially full tanks sloshing around. It was years later that I learned the term hydrocarbon emissions.

People actually check in at a counter?

moocherx Jun 2, 2008 1:18 am

better lose a few pounds in case I need to strip upon checkin (or wear the lighter jeans)

I would actually welcome a time limit. How people can spend as long as they do in the bathroom remains a mystery to me.

Nice job guys...this thread is already an urban legend being reported on by MSM.

Well, maybe not this thread, but obviously someone else is thinking the same thing...

Wiirachay Jun 3, 2008 8:20 am

What about:
Free booze
Free drinks
Free food

and

$50 to use the bathroom. :D

PHLflying Jun 3, 2008 12:02 pm

Lets not think we'll go to a counter to weigh ourselves, with CO and their online/mobile device efficiency, we'll be required to hookup our bathroom scales to their website and report it via that at checkin.

The system will be flawed though to CO's advanatage, because after you've treked down all of C at CLE, you may have lost a few pounds...

Last night's (June 4, 2008) 11pm snooze cast on WNBC in NY had a segment on this. They said the idea of charging airline passengers by weight was, "...Being discussed on Internet chatrooms." A few minutes later, Jay Leno had a joke about this.
