Cancelled Flight to CLE

I generally fly NWA, but decided to try CO for a change.

I was en route to Cleveland and the flight was cancelled due to a mechanical problem. After several hours of waiting standby I got a middle seat (ick). But thanks to Delta for the help. I am a NWA Gold Elite, should I expect any comp from CO?

P.S. The CO gate agent told me my Skyteam Elite status meant nothing, in fact I was one of the last people rebooked... that was kind of crappy....

Question

If the problem was mechanical, why would you think compensation is owed?

Well, if he was delayed because of anything besides weather they should have given him meal coupons at the least.

Since it was mechanical, he should have been confirmed on the first flight on another carrier with availability to his destination.

Hartmann and CO 1E, I was thinking those very things. .

However, when someone posts here about "compensation" you know they want money.
