Unable to OLCI

I am sorry if this seems like a stupid question- I have tried searching and I am unable to find the exact answer I want.

I am flying EDI to EWR tommorow (in Y) and I have just tried to OLCI, having entered all my details I get the usual ''proceed to airport message''. Since I am travelling on a simple return ticket that does not have any upgrades to process conventional wisdom would suggest that one of the following two things has happened:

1) The flight is oversold and I may have been bumped off. Can I find out if this is the case?

2) I have been selected for SSSS. This is not a problem in itself- but since I only have hand luggage I was planning on arriving at EDI at about 7am for the 8am flight- I am not entirely sure what SSSS involves (I am not aware of having it to or from the UK)- will it take a long time?

Either way I guess I will have to get up a little earlier if I want a reasonable seat- I only booked last week and have no sky team status so I have been left right at the back of the bus and I really need a power point for my laptop.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Either way I'd get there a lot earlier than one hour if I can't OLCI. At least 2 hours in advance to be sure.

Why not call Continental and ask why you can't check in? Make sure your reservation is synchronized, etc. If they won't tell you why you can assume SSSS and make sure they have the correct Onepass number on the ticket. And if that still doesn't work make sure you show up early enough for your groping.

This happens to me if I try to check in via the reservation directly sometimes. If I go to the main page, go to More check in options and enter my onepass # it normally works.

You may have tried this already but if not it is just a though.

Thanks for the advice, I left it for a couple of hours and then tried to check in via the link that was e-mailed to me to remind me about OLCI. It worked first time which was most peerculiar.....
