Just couple notes on the direction CO is taking. I completely agreed with CO's focus on China market because that's where the future of business is. I understand the reasoning behind West Coast being a lower priority; nevertheless, I would suggest CO to move the West Coast priority a couple notches higher if they want a firm hold on China market. It's not because I live on the West Coast. :) It's simply because West Coast is the gateway to Asia (i.e. China), and it's wise for CO to establish its name as a carrier that provides good service to Asia (i.e. China) sooner than later (name recognition purpose).

I learned that they now have a "mystery shopper" at EWR that is reporting back on issues that many of us face frequently in regard to customer service.

I learned that maybe, just maybe, I may be on equipment other than ERJs out of EWR.

As I live in the great Garden State Exit 24 off Rt 78 LOL and can not see going to ABE to take a van to EWR to fly to TUL or SNA or SFO or ..... I am delighted to read the above comments.. I am ever hopeful of a pleasant face at check in, PC and gates and Do dislike and avoid skinny jets...even if I have to fly EWR LAX IAD TUL... sort of silly and time consuming...Glaad to read this and YEAH!!!:D

Yes. AA is the only one who includes ALL miles. From a customer perspective it's great. From a business perspective I really have to question the wisdom of doing that.

Yup...I use my AAdvantage card exclusively for that very reason. 993,700 and counting...

Can you elaborate on this? Did they not sell all 500 of them, or are they making more available since they all disappeared less than 30 minutes from when they sent the email?

There were a couple of people (I think 40-50) that got the email sent to them and tried to pay for the reader with miles. But something happened with the web interface and they were unable to complete the transaction and therefore didn't get a chance to be one of the first 500. They're giving these 40-50 the chance to buy the readers at the discounted mile price still.

In other words instead of just offering 500 readers they're offering 540-550 total. A nice gesture on their part.

I'm glad you're there but given the current airline market I see less incentive for people to try to get to lifetime status just on the cards alone. That is, unless you're already flying AA as your primary or secondary carrier there's more risk in trying to get to lifetime status by just churning cards or spending.

Please a1bengal don't continue the myth that all of us in the great Garden State live off an Exit Ramp. As a lifelong New Jerseyan (ite, er, whatever) I have never lived off an exit ramp (close to, but not off);)

Cheers

Why are you (or anyone else, come to think of it) continuing the myth that the Garden State is infact "great"? There was once a time on, if memory serves, Monster.com, where NJ (The People's Republic of, IMHO) did not exist. There was a listing for Philly suburbs and for NYC suburbs. No NJ at all.

Referring to license plates: "What does it say now, the Garden State? Haha, sure. If you're growing smokestacks, yes." - George Carlin, 1986, while performing in Union City.

While referring to Atlanta, but it fits: "Look, you people have to realize that too many f***ers live here." - Lewis Black

And to go back on topic re: EWR agents, I've often joked that I would need to give up my firstborn to get upgraded...good thing Girlfriend is downstairs right now.

Question: Did anyone attending the DO fly in on an airline other than CO?

Due to a lack of availability I came in on NW (CO coded) but, made it on CO metal on the return.
