DO III Off to A Great Start
The Do III shows every indication of setting new benchmarks. The party tonight at the Doubletree was very well planned and a lot of fun! The atmosphere and setting was very relaxed and enjoyable for mingling about.
I got wind of some really great upcoming announcements, interesting and cool prizes and other surprises in store for the CO faithful. Cigar, Scott and the rest of the CO staff really worked hard to make this DO even more incredible and memorable, and it will be another one for the books!

Everything's great except for that plane that tried to "crash" our party!
Looking at data on flightaware.com, it's likely to be China Airlines CI16 from SEA. That's the only 4-engine aircraft that landed at IAH this evening. The Airbus 340-300 landed 8:53p.

Come to think of it, it can't be that CI flight landing at IAH.
Instead, it's more likely to be the Saudi Arabian cargo flight SV2904 that departed 8:34p for BRU.
The Doubletree is under a mile straight off at the end of Runway 15L, and only an old plane like a 742 can produce so much noise. And a heavy cargo plane with full fuel load means pretty slow climb.

Or maybe the pilots thought it was a premiere party for the film "The Kingdom".

PS Jeff also let slip that it's suppose to enter service tomorrow but they are missing the emergency cards for the seat backs so it will likely be delayed a few days while someone runs over to Kinko's

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows 98; PalmSource/Palm-D052; Blazer/4.5) 16;320x320)
It was definitely a 742 and originally I thought it was a UPS plane but Saudi explains it.
There was a CO 777 that took off shortly after (20 minutes) and that was cool to see (and hear). I heard a few 757s takeoff through the night as well.
All in all a fun night. We left early to get up for the next day's festivities.

Reminded me of Sunset Beach Bar in SXM.
