Kudos to Continental!!!!!

I was in Spokane on a litigation case. I needed to fly to Orlando for another case. I used American Airlines.

First, the Super 80 had mechanical problems delaying my SEA-MCO flight. Hey, that happens. After it was fixed, the plane was delayed because of weather in Chicago (through which I was connecting). Hey, that happens. But we boarded at 10am PST and arrived in Chicago at 8:30pm CST - in other words, I was sitting on the plane a looonnnggggggg time (say 4 1/2 hours) before we even took off. I missed the connection. Hey, that happens. But I had to take a cab to downtown Chi because all the O'Hare hotels were book - and paid over $400 for the Sheraton on Water Street. Then I had to get up at 4am to cab it back to O'Hare and get on the filthy 757 to MCO. OK, I made it.

The problem I had with AA was absolutely no interest that I missed a flight, had to pay $400+ plus cab fare, and arrived the next day instead of the expected day. Their response was a bored "So, you think you are alone?" attitude. Although I was in F, it look like dried vomit on the seat in front of me.

So, I decided to do MCO-PHX on CO in F. I was tired about 3 weeks in court, I entered the wrong date on line when buying the ticket. I showed up this morning and ... no seat. The wonderful person at MCO (behind the self check in) found the problem, smiled, said it happens and I put you on the flights today (same schedule) in business class. I was expecting a full business cabin, so I had resigned myself to a middle seat in the back. BUT NO - she got me great seats in business and treated me like I was a .... customer! The pilots even walked by said hello to everyone!

And the food is better. I failed to add that I had several glasses on wine on that massively delayed AA flight which gave me the worst headache. But the food on CO is better than AA's food.

So, I have booked all my overseas flights (Paris, Geneva, Paris again, Frankfurt) on CO in business. THEY get my business travel, not AA or those USAirways boinks.
