For the most part. He does challenges that involve spicy hot foods that don't involve copious amounts of food.

With advance notice and a decent cut of steak, I believe I could eat a 48-ounce steak (cooked properly) almost any day. This must be part of the Patriot Do envisioned by icurhere2 ...

For those on the BOX run does anyone want to hotel out by JFK or just do a morning run to the airport? Also what about sharing rooms at MEX? Let me know and I can make reservations!!

Before or after they started the recent $64 million renovation?

If the establishment is still in business, my photo is on the wall of a Sterling, VA establishment from eating insanity wings (despite immediate hiccups). The one time I saw the show, he started crying on the first wing and gave up on the second.

I need to clear up some of my backlog before scheduling said Do - as a dean for 3.5 years, I got well behind on life.

Would need to be something like butter - I would give up chewing a bad cut of steak in far less than 20 minutes.

I think I am going to do the LGA-IAH-SLC run on Feb 17 :)

Yes, I'm visiting the canal. Have nothing better to do with a 10-hour layover in PTY.

Ditto for getting a hotel room. I got a room at the Holiday Inn T2 East, about 10 minutes from the airport, for ~$80 USD/night. It's my first time to MEX, I'm arriving around midnight, and heading back at 1pm the next day, so I'm going to go *extremely* cautious and just shuttle to hotel, sleep, then shuttle back to airport.

Thanks for the info....looking forward to seeing what you thought of the trip!

Ugh, SOMEDAY you'll actually be playing on a night that I'm actually in town, not to mention free!

Gigs are harder to come by these days but I'm working on it. I'll keep posting 'em and hopefully you'll make it sometime. Do you ever post your performances??

I've been there before and liked it....Next time we go into Manhattan together, it'll either be GoBo or The Candle Cafe.

Before, during, and after. The hotel has always sucked and always will.

The night of the epic fail was in a "new" room and after the lobby had been redone (common areas are nice).

Very nice - even better if you get a few hours to walk around SLC. :D
