Can't help with the second question but a Next Big Thing / FFN needs to be used by the end of March (unless an extension is granted). I make a point of using mine before the deadlines.

I haven't tracked through pages today -- are you Hyatt running this weekend icurhere2?

Dropped and broke my camera this afternoon getting out of the car and heading back up to the hotel. Very, very unhappy about that. I can sortof piece it back together in some circumstances and make it fire and record the picture but there are a number of functions that are completely non-functional, including the flash.

Very, very, very upset. :( :(

Oh, NO! :( :( :( I'm so sorry to hear that. How awful to put a damper on your weekend adventure like that...

Do I need to start a traveling photographers insurance service?

Well, the good news is that I have a slightly less broken camera with me that I can use for the rest of the weekend so that at least gets me by. I'm really not looking forward to dropping the cash to replace this one but not having a camera will kill me. I've got too much travel coming up that I want/need it for.

Oh, and I trashed the lens, too, so the replacement costs are going to really, really suck.

Xyzzy says hi to the Box.

Was going to before car malfunction - I'm now sitting on three remaining FFNs instead of earning a fourth.

Sorry to hear - camera or components purchased recently with a card (like AmEx) with that initial damage protection?

Events of this week probably have concluded my hopping -- I fortunately got to 7 stays, but that last FFN would be nice. I am in MCO next week at a Marriott (conference hotel).
