From a basic job listing (have to join to see full description) for a "Compliance Attorney" in Houston:

Job Description:
Directs and performs compliance audits consisting of reviews based on the annual work plan, reviews identified during internal risk assessments, and reviews requested by the Compliance Department or other appropriate areas. Coordinates review of audit findings with Compliance Department.
Doesn't necessarily sound to me like you need to have clerked for Scalia to do it.

Would any Boxer that either appreciates irony or collects such things be interested in a bulletin-board 2010 calendar that is titled "10 Great Reasons to Choose SkyTeam" that also has CO, CM, and NW logos on it?

Her patience is eternal (she married me after all) and most of the stuff that flusters others just makes her laugh. Yesterday was the worst day she's had in terms of student behavior and she laughed the whole time she was telling me the story. She was apparently rushed by a student (who failed to make an impact) and had a desk thrown at her (which she ducked a la being in The Matrix). This and much worse was a nearly daily occurrence when she taught at a non-public school in Beaumont, CA, mostly because her classroom was overfilled with 16, 17, and 18 year old East LA gangbangers.

Dealing with a kid who is throwing a fit because he isn't getting his way is not a big deal, and she is extremely good at dealing with it and getting them back on track and doing their work. It is amazing to me, really.

My wife is the sweetest most caring person I know, but when she darkens the door of her classroom, she becomes MRS. MACKIE, TAKER OF NO CRAP. It really is quite something.

OK, so it's finally there, at least up until 2000. Looks like I just found a use for my spare time.

No snow in Florida?

True story: just rang my wife in Sanibel, FL from a very wintry Wiltshire, UK.

Apparently, my wife has gone to cinema to see Sherlock Holmes (must be feeling homesick).

Young lady who works for us (Florida native) answered my wife's cellphone (as she correctly did not want to take it to the cinema, so left it at the office).

Young lady asked how I was. I said "fine, apart from being snowed in here".

She replied "sorry, I don't know what that means".

I do believe she was being genuine, or am I just a naive Brit?"

It almost never snows in Florida. Someone who was born and raised in the Southeastern US has a good chance of not knowing that expression.

We get in on a regular basis, especially during the summer.

I'm just happy that Teh Pit got a dose of snow this year.

Guess you are right. It just amused me.Thought she might have heard it on TV, movie or whatever. My wife keeps complaining how cold it is in FL this week (and it was rather chilly when I was there last week).

I'll be there again in a couple of weeks, when I can explain the expression to the young lady, and I hope enjoy some warm sunshine.
