I never got to tell the B:rolleyes:X about my coin 'adventure' at Chase last friday (before the 'big' drama w/son began!). I went to deposit only $500 -- as a payment towards my huge MC bill due that day! The clerk said I needed to speak to the 'manager' -- I asked 'who is the manager?' -- the staff at that branch is like a 'revolving' door -- it's ridiculous! Then the guy at the customer service desk -- jokingly says ' I am' -- then points me to the correct person. I was basically told that the branch had to send the coins to a special place to be counted -- so they couldn't take the coins! I said you can't count these coins yourself -- it's only $500 worth! I was told 'not possible'.

I thanked them for the 'service' they were giving me as a Chase customer  & promptly went across the street to a bank that I also have an account at -- they took it with no problem!^ So, I am seriously thinking of pulling all my accounts from them (2 business ckg, 2 personal ckg, 1 personal svgs & one jt ckg w/ex -- who is a 'select banking' client!)

I simply couldn't believe how totally absurd it all was! Haven't had a chance to do anything about it -- due to other more 'pressing' matters! Boy, was I steamed!

I understand it's business purchases but many of us have spent hundreds of thousands in business-reimbursed expenses on personal credit cards in the past ^. Back when RewardsNetwork / iDine was 10 miles per dollar, I even got to pick up the tab for Friday Happy Hours at a participating establishment

Right, but I wasn't much into this before 1.5 years ago. I think my CO balance was at 30k and AA at 45k, now AA is at 500 and CO is mighty fine not quite a mileage 'millionaire' but getting there!

I've come a long way!

Many of the larger banks seem to be particularly  I'm fortunate that my BoA's still act like good small-town banks (two are even closed on Saturday).

I'm closing in on SkyTeam USA RDM millionaire in the account I opened July 2008. If you incorporate SkyTeam USA Lite, I've already earned over a million.

Still a few hundred thousand from OneWorld USA Lifetime Gold.

I don't much care to ever set foot on an AA plAAne again to be honest, burned too much.

I have 3-4 decades of flying still ahead of my, I hope CO is still around for the first 25% of that. I have a feeling however that industry forces are going to change such that many of these programs will be nullified in time.
