Sounds like it's worth a shot but the more descriptive you could be the better.

Real response: Possibly. I have to figure out what they would be worth.

Fake response: I wish I could offer them in the reciprocal upgrade thread.

Night, Box.

At least DL is serving food in F on flights of that length again. Of course, pre-DL NW would have served two hot entrée choices on such a flight, and CO would have at least one hot option on that length of flight.

I will give DL the prize for the best domestic lounge food, provided you visit (1) during the correct 90 minute window in the afternoon/early evening and (2) are visiting a club that actually has the expanded menu. If those stars align and you hold your breath, you may walk in to find a nice spread that goes way beyond the complimentary packaged snacks everyone else is serving. Unfortunately, for about 75% of the opening hours of the average SkyClub, you're lucky to find much more to snack on than a bowl of pretzels and some tiny plastic bowls at the bar.

Nope, no fare class restriction. Do the Chase card ones have fare bucket limitations? If so, it's no wonder that the road warrior bunch think they're worthless.

(The correct answer is that I'm good and not lucky. I travel off-peak when F isn't packed.)

The biggest issue with those certificates is that they have very limited value for tickets originating or ending at IAH, EWR, or CLE. If you're starting and ending at non-hub airports, they're worth quite a bit more.

Ordinarily true but sometimes IRROPS (LAX-ATL) and/or cost (ATL-LAS) require the longer domestic flight segments. And once I clear in F, I'm not too likely to SDC to Y and play the battlefield game.

I'm with you on that. I've turned down quite a few VDB opportunities in the past when it meant going from a confirmed F seat to an almost guaranteed Y seat on the new flight.

I can't lie; on domestic segments breakfast tends to be my favorite airline meal. And I've had some really  meal items on OneWorld USA.

That's pushing it - I won't SDC to coach and fight for F (no compensation) but a VDB (compensation) ...

Huge +1 and spot on! Sitting on the plane to head back to JFK. The SC at SFO is ok. I would not call it special in any sense. I like the folks in the SFO PC although the space itself is a little small. Did not make it over there this run.

Off to bed - I have to stay in the office two hours late tomorrow for an event that mirrors another event that was held this morning

They'd have to pay me a lot to sit in Y when I've previously been promised F. A LOT.

No wifi on this plane (same one I came in so stands to reason (smile). Anyway, will check in again when I land at JFK.

Good Night Box.

$400 and F on the next flight works by me. I can be flexible if the VDB / time / segment length ratios look good.

Really gone now.

My day has been full of fun!

# of projectile vomits (not mine) - 4

# of loads of laundry I've done that were just done yesterday - 4

# of smoke detectors I've changed batteries on and are properly installed - 1

# of smoke detectors I've treated as a pinata and have a new battery but are not installed - 1

# of nasty text messages to beloved Plus1 - I've lost track

# of drinks tonight - surprisingly just sipping my second. I need to start gulping . . . soon

Bitter resentment at not having thought of this myself will not stop me from saying this is one great pun.

And that was one curious thread. The OP needs to learn the simple placement of boarding pass, id and plat card onto the desk, followed by an out-of-breath "is there anything you can do for me?", followed by silence.

:D

I will resist temptation and avoid reading the thread in question. Gnite, Box.

Tomorrow will be trip #3 to the dr. for BL JR with whatever she has. She has all the symptoms of H1N1 (she was able to get part 1 of her vaccination, but not part 2 due to "we were going to ship 3.7 million doses to Texas, but really have less than a million". At least she won't have a smoke detector keeping her up tonight :D
