I misplaced my manners...

Morning, Box.

There, that's better.

I thought about coming out to ORD the night before - might burn 30K for ORD Hilton and take one of those evening flights from PHL...Tuesday would start at about 0300 Eastern and not end until I pass out aboard the 744 if I did it same-day.

Of to the Embassy Suites in Crystal City.

How is that Bolt browser treating you Copa?

Good morning box

Good morning, Box. Rest was not plentiful last night and did not come until after 2AM. This is a particularly piquant detail considering that I have an interviewish mock presentation to give in an hour and a half and an on site interview later this afternoon. I don't really drink coffee all that often but a run to Starbucks may be in order.

Meh. It is better than the standard BB browser, but it doesn't redirect after posting and it creates duplicates. For the rest of the Web it is great but it likes to barf on FT.

ETA: I posted this and got a page not found...had to go back two pages and the refresh the Box - Bolt can't redirect me back into the thread.

Good luck at both!

I'm off to apply for jobs with the US State Department today.

Thanks, but err...what happened with the successful consultant gig?

Another caffeination option (I'm not a big coffee guy either) are a couple of varieties of the Crystal Light stick-packs. One of them (wild strawberry) gives you 150mg caffeine when added to a 20oz water bottle.

The Box is exactly where I go if I have a question. Answers are quick, accurate, and devoid of criticisms for not searching. If something is worthy of an extended discussion, then I'll start a thread so that the info is easier to find for subsequent queries by others. But if all I want to know is about some policy or technical issue or an opinion that comes from a well-balanced individual (i.e, not some pompous nutjob), the Box is where it's at.

Morning Box... wonderful weekend with the in-laws ahead . +1 wanted to go to Messina Hof winery with them, but I refused to drive 2 hours each way with 'em all.

I would like to take a moment to publicly thank the man that is outside my window using a jackhammer. It really makes working from home a joy!

I suppose it beats Tuesday morning when I woke up to one of these right outside our bedroom window...

I guess I didn't make myself clear -- you can get quick answers to just about anything travel, firearms, or IT-related in here, but that's not why I read the Box. For me, it's more of a Stammtisch than anything else.

By the way, congratulations on winning the contest.

I am not a hockey guy, but I might consider 12/14 if I am not out of town the previous week. I am not surprised you've gotten few responses in the US forum; most of the PHL regulars have bailed.

I would agree with this.

I'm simply not convinced that I can make it last. And a job as a diplomatic courier or IT guy for foreign embassies seems like a lot of fun and comes with a pension if I stick with it.

quick question to those esteemed members of the box who are knowledgeable about these matters:

can I book a hotel stay in my name, using my spg number, but have Mr.Brit check into the room without me being present?

I want to book a room in Vegas for him, but I won't be travelling with him. He will check in using the same credit card I book with, so I guess he could check in and say I was in the car or something, perhaps?
