Gotcha. I'm working to stick to my budget, as well. Gotta wait until next week to (hopefully) book my IAH-IST/WVB/EZE BD reward.

PFFGH.

For a time I carried 3 phones. 1 personal. 1 work. 1 issued by . Do you know what it feels like to be made fun of by TSA employees. It's like always taking a trip to Pandyland.

I'm on call 24/7 with both phones. Although I've been known to leave them downstairs...

I'm always dropping my phone, Blackberry, and ipod when carrying them around. If only there was a device that combined all three into one.

I used to have to explain to the TSA (late 2001-end 2003) why I had two otherwise identically looking laptops (one "secure", one "normal") ...

Anglo Large Clawed Otter Jul 24, 2009 1:33 pm

I have given up on telephones as a means of communication in favor of something more personal and reliable...

The rescue picture is even funnier than the article.

My wife and I have separate checking accounts. I don't have to worry about her shopping habits and she never sees the damage from my travel habits. Life is better that way.

I am in. The calendar is clear at work and I will have moved by then. I am getting withdraws. Been over two weeks since I have been on a plane. The real question is do I do CO for 230ish or DL/NW for about the same and new airports. I really want to get over to DTW and see the terminal and the SC there but the problme is the routing only gives me a 45 min connection there. I want something longer so I can fully check out the terminal. ALCO are you looking to fly up on the 7 pm flight on the 14th to DCA?

Good idea! ^

We won't discuss how late I stayed up last night updating mine, nor how it caused me to oversleep this morning and almost miss my LBB-IAH flight.

I made my flight though, and I'm so glad I did. It was oh so fun:
  • The CO counter at LBB was total chaos at 35 minutes before departure, due to a church youth group with about 25 people checking in for a trip to Italy. Most of this group was flying for the first time and they had no idea what to do, and they all had tons of luggage. And CO only has about 2-3 people to work the counter at LBB.
  • TSA at LBB has returned the half blind lady who yells "BAG CHECK!" on nearly every bag to the x-ray.
  • Elvis sat across the aisle from me on the flight in 12C. His wife was in 12B. She was reading a biography about her husband's life (or at least about the life of the man her husband thinks he is). She even had a Graceland bookmark and an Elvis/Las Vegas purse. Elvis practiced his songs while we were parked at the gate waiting for boarding to finish, and during the safety briefing.
  • We followed a 757 into IAH, and hit pretty strong wake turbulence right over Lake Houston as we turned onto our final approach. It was probably the most violent turbulence I've ever encountered, with the plane rolling violently left and right, and up and down all at once. The kids in the youth group all started screaming, and Elvis's wife started praying.
  • We landed safely, and as we were getting off the plane, Elvis told the flight attendant, "Thank you. Thank you very much, little lady."
  • The youth group, who had no gate checked bags, decided to reassemble about three feet off the ERJ, in the jetway, making it impossible to get through the crowd and up the jetway. Finally the flight attendant and a gate agent told them to reassemble their possy up at the top of the jetway.

I wish they would have some sorta Elite line at the CO checkin there. I would assume that they get a lot of business people in there regularly. I have been in the same situtaions and just hate it. I did find that usually the line was in the see the TA line vs use the Kiosk! :)

Looks like the DO will be relatively small, but that's ok. It makes planning it that much easier.

Small is good in some ways! I think we should try to plan some time at the Smithosian or I know I will as I havent been there in a while. I was at the IAD facility a few years ago and enjoyed that but dont know if it has changed all that much.

Have you every thought about forwarding the two extra phones to one phone. When I originally moved from LAS to SWO I found it cheaper to get a second local number on the Old ATT than to get a local wired line. I then forwarded the one phone to the other and didnt pay for the calls as I was forwarding one number to the other phone within the same network. It allowed me to keep the numbers until the Old ATT became ALLTEL and then became the New ATT!
